They say the Qantas Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) is one of the most difficult lounges to find—and they weren’t wrong! Located just after security, the entrance is next to a patisserie shop named Paul Lafayet, near Gate 5. If you’re not paying attention, you might just walk past it.

Once inside, though, it’s a different story. The lounge is huge and spacious, offering a comfortable retreat from the busy terminal. One of its highlights? The à la carte dining, featuring the famous Char Siew Rice—but unfortunately, that’s only available after 4 PM. I arrived too early for their afternoon service, so I thought I had missed out.

But what really stood out was the excellent service. The staff noticed I was sitting alone for a while and came over to let me know that food was now available. When I didn’t move, they surprised me by bringing some dishes for me to try! I wasn’t expecting that level of attentiveness, and it made the experience even better.

The food selection is impressive, with a good variety of options, including plenty of choices for vegetarians. Whether you’re looking for something light or a full meal, the lounge caters to different dietary preferences with quality offerings.

And of course, I have to mention my favorite—their signature caramel cheesecake. Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with a caramel glaze, it’s a must-try if you visit this lounge!

Still, the lounge delivers with its relaxed atmosphere, solid buffet options, and bar service. A great spot to unwind before a flight—if you can find it!

Would you make the effort to visit this lounge? Let me know! ✈️🍽️ #MileageRun #QantasLoungeHKG...

The most exceptional lounge experience ever!! Had a wonderful trip to Hong Kong. I was going to use the Oneworld lounge with Cathay Pacific as the major carrier in Hong Kong but tried Qantas. It was amazing!! Well done to “May” and her team for making my time and my experience feel special and making me feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and in fact the team anticipated every need and kindly offered a wonderful service even before asking. I’ve experienced many airport lounges but Qantas International Business lounge at Hong Kong is miles above the rest. The Qantas HK lounge was impeccable, the staff exceptional (as good as any top hotel) the food amazing. Loved the chicken curry, al la carte menu, dim sum trolley and desserts. Although it was the personal care, kindness, customer service that made it a wonderful experience which is so much better than the normal tolerable service you’d expect. The Qantas HK lounge is way better than any other Qantas lounge and miles ahead of Cathay, Emirates or BA!! Congratulations May and team. You enhanced our trip and...

Amazing & attentive friendly staff. You guys lots much better than other club lounge staff (sorry this is the truth). So far I stayed in HK last 6 weeks, I haven't seen the friendly, attentive staff for a long time. (Between I am also working in Australia hospo). I wish I could bring them to my restaurant to work in Melbourne. The Manager also great, my visit was from 3pm onwards in HK QF30). FOOD AND DRINK DRINKS FANTASY and many choices. LOVE THE coffee latte (Melbourne style)..

Food was lots much better than Melbourne business lounge (waiting for the renovation and more space but not basement with no choice).

Well done HK Qantas lounge team.

You guys service changed my mind to staying with Qantas Airline (I was actually thinking to move off to other airline but No more) .

2 staff please give them Thanks.

Connie the floor staff and Ying (I met her near shower room), Thank you for your service.

Special Thank you for 2 staff

Ying (英), and Connie, thank you for your menu and shower room explanation. Others also great, I just couldn't get...

This is the best airport lounge I have ever experienced. SERVICE: a waitress saw my son was tired and without me asking, got him a blanket so he could nap on the couch. Later she asked him if he wanted nuggets or pizza from their secret kids menu! He was thrilled. SHOWERS: no queue, huge, modern fit out. ViBE: at its busiest it appeared only at 30% capacity. BAR: the bartender was really friendly and recommended food selections. FOOD: the signature bbq pork dish was the best bbq pork I tasted in HK. Apparently they make the bbq pork in house. The Lanzhou beef noodle dish was also amazing. I couldn’t believe how delicious the a la carte meals were. FOOD: there are waiters who go around with a fresh dim sum cart! BUFFET: excellent selection. Would have been nice to have some cheese although I was impressed they had portions of French butter. Thank you to all the staff that made our very long stay such a pleasure. More than 5/5 stars!!!
