There are quite a few temples in Hong Kong dedicated to Tin Hau, the Goddess of the Sea including this one on the Main Road in Aberdeen. This temple was founded by local fisherman in 1851 and was originally on the coastline but is now a couple hundred meters back in the bustling streets of Aberdeen after past land reclamations. The temple is open from 8am to 5pm daily.
What you will find is a typical Qing Dynasty era temple with grey brick exterior and decorative multiple chamber interior. You will see shrines with deities, hanging incense coils, moon gates which lead to small courtyards with tiger and dragon murals. There is an ancient bell and drum and other traditional temple items to see.
Overall, this is a nice temple to see if you happen to be in the Aberdeen area and are interested in...
