Primer Parque de Laureles — Attraction in Medellín

The park is nice for adults who want a stroll during the morning or afternoon. They have benches for resting, a dog 🐕 area and plenty of parking 🅿️. I don't recommend this park for families with small children who want to play due to the fact there are many homeless laying around everywhere, trash being build up and rats 🐀 running around. Someone mentioned that the park is part of Pedro Nel Gómez's original neighborhood plan for the community, which is wonderful. Unfortunately it has been neglected by the City. First Park sits on the dividing line between a decent neighborhood and a smart neighborhood. There are benches and lots of lush shade trees. Saw a thief take a backpack in this park this past week. No police in sight on any day. We stayed just across the street in Edificio Horjarsca in an Airbnb (DO NOT RECOMMEND IT) and between this theft and other shady activity from Airbnb guests (clearly sex tourism), I’d recommend staying in a local hotel where you have 24/7 security and def avoiding this...
