St. Vitus’ Cathedral (Katedrala sv. Vida) is one of Rijeka’s most remarkable landmarks, with a story that blends history, architecture, and faith. • Unique Design – It’s the only Baroque rotunda in Croatia, built in a circular form that stands out among traditional church layouts. • Construction – Built around 1727, making it nearly 300 years old, it was designed by the Jesuits as part of their spiritual and architectural influence in Rijeka. • Baroque Beauty – Rich in Baroque elements: ornate chapels, detailed altars, and artistic decorations that reflect the grandeur of the era. • Religious Importance – Dedicated to St. Vitus, Rijeka’s patron saint, the cathedral is a central place of worship for the city’s Catholic community. • Historic Treasures – Inside, visitors can admire religious artwork, relics, and a sense of serenity that contrasts with the lively streets outside. Its round shape makes it instantly recognizable, and it symbolizes both Rijeka’s cultural heritage and its religious devotion.

At 30 degrees I was obviously wearing summer clothes but nothing too revealing. No cleavage, long shorts and no spaghetti straps. As soon as me and my husband entered I said Hi to the person sitting at the door. But instead of a hello back he gave me a nasty up and down look and insulted me in Croatian, as soon as I turned my back. I understand you don’t walk in in a bathing suit but it’s 2024 and women shouldn’t be treated this way, especially by a man that looked very not taken care off 🙄. Not very Christian to treat people this way is it? I saw several men inside in tank tops, apparently that wasn’t so distressing to this...
