I'm a huge fan of being by the sea and beaches. Not so much for sun bathing but more for the many therepeutic benefits it provides from fresh air, to allowing you time to process thoughts and to chill out generally. I think you'd have to try hard to make a beach I couldn't enjoy. Unfortunately this is one of those beaches. I think it's made for people who want to come to Cyprus and sunbathe, spend time with the family, food and drinks and so on. And if that's what you want then this is for you. I just found it too busy (by far the most tourists of all the beaches I'd visited in Cyprus), it's right next to Lanarca Airport so you have the noise of planes taking off as well as seeing them landing as you can see in the photos. This might be the sort of thing you enjoy. There's lots of sunbeds and umbrellas so you will find a spot (you have to pay for them of course). There's a lot of bars and different food options along the beach so there is a lot of choice. You have to pay for parking but at least there's lots of parking spaces. Yeah overall I think it was ok, average. I think if you get a hire car you could drive to some truly spectacular beaches such as up at Polis, or down by Aphrodite's Rock where there are a lot fewer tourists, less built up, fewer hotels and general noise from airports. I think it's worth it for the utterly beautiful views you can get of the Mediterranean Sea from other parts...
Read morethe beach is very dirty. The sun loungers are dirty. Tables are dirty and broken. Ashtrays are not cleaned. When the wind picks up, the ashtray opens and other people's cigarette butts fly into my face. I found nudels in the sand under the bed - it was disgusting. Some tourists do not respect nature at all and manage to leave dirty diapers and other rubbish under their sunbeds. The guys who rent sunbeds absolutely do not want to clean the beach, tables, beds. The blue flag beach leaves much to be desired. There are a lot of places on the beach for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc. There is a free toilet, changing room, the opportunity to wash your feet. Paid, but cheap, shower. There are all amenities and possibilities to be a good beach if people start...
Read moreGreat big volcanic sand beach with restaurants and cafes. There are sun loungers and umbrellas, rented for the whole day - 2.5 euros per unit (they are paid from 10 to 18). There is a dressing room with a shower for a fee. The staff who keep order on the beach are friendly. There are hotels across the street. Periodically, there is a staff who serves drinks and snacks. The beach, like the coast, is periodically cleaned. The airport is located nearby, so you will see the planes landing. The water here is shallow, I recommend diving into the water near the coast, because here it warms up very well and it is comfortable to be in it. if you want to swim, then you need to walk a...
