Salamis Restaurant, Fish Tavern & Sports Bar — Restaurant in Larnaca

DO NOT EAT HERE! We were in a group of six people, we ordered steaks, mix grill and the chicken kebab. My steak had a strong dish soap taste, it was horrible. The other meals had a weird taste, very weird seasoning (and it's not Cyprian seasoning, we have eaten in local restaurants and the Cyprian seasoning is delicious). We talked to the owner and he took one of the plates back, said he wouldn't charge, but for us it wasn't about the money but about the experience. The owner was very rude and said "I'll have to try it myself " and never came back to us. At the end, all the plates were barely touched, all plates were returned. We explained to the waitress that it tasted bad and the owner simply avoided us. It is clear that the owner doesn't accept complaints (you can see that yourself if you see how he responds back to the negative reviews here) "cook for yourself" and so on... so if you want to avoid frustration in your vacation do not visit this place.

The food here doesn't taste good and was the most expensive place during our holidays so far.

This restaurant situated close to Mackenzy area has very good food and diverse, staff is very friendly and polite and they serve also local dishes (many varieties of beef, chicken, lamb, pork etc) and local drinks and a lot of cocktails.the halloumi cheese, garlic bread, the chicken with garlic and diane sause are amazing.

The plates are big (2 people can eat from one portion) and the prices are good and they serve you a lot of food (first they bring you the bread with butter-very tasty and before they bring you the bill they always serve you with something from the house free of charge).

Every wednesday, friday and saturday they have karaoke night and live music.

They have also discounts for loyal customers. It has and outside terrace, an acvarium with exotic fishes and turtles.

I felt very good at this local (it was also very close to our hotel) and we didn't changed it to other one because it was very good here. (We went here twice per day everyday).

My experience at Salamis was extremely disappointing. I ordered a dish called Steak Diane, which was highly overpriced. When the steak arrived, it had a strange soapy taste and was not cooked to the requested doneness. When I tried to express my dissatisfaction, the restaurant owner did not take my criticism well, turned his back on me, and walked away, which I found very disrespectful. Honestly, it was the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at and the worst service I have ever received. After this incident, I researched other reviews and noticed that the restaurant does not accept any kind of criticism, claiming that all dissatisfied customers were drunk. This is unacceptable.
