Fun day to spend on the beach. You can watch the many boats or get on a charter party or fishing, snorkel, dive boat very easy.
Theres a pathway that runs parallel with many resturants, bars and vendors selling t-shirts, bathing suits, coverups etc and lots if tourist items as well as cigars.
Can be somewhat annoying as each area has people right in your face to go into their place even after you say no gracias ive shopped or eaten already. They will jump on you right from the parking lot for services which can be helpful 1st time. I just say give me your whatsapp and when ready ill call. Thus the drop in stars and for toilets.
Cost us 800 pesos for beach loungers for 2. (Nov, 2024) even though we ate and had the famous pins colada in a pineapple. (SO good and filling) they tell you beach chairs are separate service but we paid the same guy.
Washrooms are pretty bad at our resturant no seat and sign says no caca. I asked how my wife would go they showed me a napkin and wiping motion so shes expected to sit on the piss soaked rim. There are main washrooms near front for 25 pesos but not much better my wife said but also showers. It can be quite busy good day for people watching If this review helps you...
Read moreThis is the biggest beach in Sosua, this beach is the best swimming beach in the area almost all year round Fantastic place to spend a day Has a small village feel to it, nice places to eat fresh fish, Many different restaurants and bars on this beach. Usually this is a quiet place but Can get very busy if it's a Dominican holiday ! Sosua Beach is also famous for its water sports, great fishing tours and yacht parties. The restaurant selection is as varied as its population, ranging from English to German, Jamaican, Italian, French, Serbian, Austrian and North American. Local artists can be seen painting when tourists walk down the main street, also lots of diving centers around the parking area gearing up with tourists visiting from hotels and private villa rentals.
An important aspect of Sosua Beach is the fact that the clear waters are shallow in many areas, and parents can watch their kids from vantage points where food and drinks are delivered, straight to the chaise lounges by the water. The view from any point of the beach, the banana boat zipping by the anchored yachts and the beautiful background of blue sky against the Isabel de Torres mountain makes this a supreme vacation experience in...
Read moreSuch a good beach for swimming and lounging. The water isn't very rough and there is lots of space and chairs to spread out. Also love the variety of food vendors and shops along the walkway.
When my friends and I went, a great Dominican man, Luciano, helped us out. He's stationed in front of Valero's #107 by the lifeguard stand. We rented chairs, tables, and umbrellas from him, and he acted as our own food server, Instead of bouncing between the food stalls ourselves, we simply told him what we were craving (e.g. frozen marg, corona, nachos, fish tacos) - no menu- and he went to the food stalls to get it for us and bring it back to our chairs. We settled the tab with him as we were leaving and of course tipped him well, because he was so...
