So how much you like this beach is going to depend on how much you like interacting with strangers. There are a bunch or folks offering several services from beach side waiters that will get you chairs, umbrellas, food, and drinks. Then there are women walking around offering messages and pedicures which are kinda pushy but nice. Pushy as in polite "no thank you's" will be ignored and they'll give you "a free sample and if you don't like it they'll walk away." So if you don't want one you'll have to be very firm. Went with a group, wife and I got a massage and pedicure, standard fair, some others didn't. There are people walking around offering various seafood shrimp, oysters and the like. It's a fairly crowded beach so if you want to avoid the crowds and hassle playa Alicia or Alicia beach will be a better visit. Less of all the above. Beach itself is clean and water is calm enough for small children and animals to swim in without immediate area supervision. Though there are a few boats in the area, none of which where driving reckless so as always use best judgment. If you don't like low flying tourist helicopters you also may want to avoid the area as a few will pass on occasion. Roughly two in our five hour visit for five...
Read moreNice beach. Beautiful, clear water. I didn't like that things were overpriced and the sellers at the beach were relentless. Good service from the guys with the umbrellas. As soon as you get there, DO NOT take up any of the guys offering you "the best spot" as you walk towards the beach. They'll place you way far from the actual beach and charge you the same or more. Find your spot that you want and then the owner of those umbrellas will come to you. The other things I didn't like was that the beach has little waves (which is good) but a STRONG current so if you have little kids, BE VERY CAREFUL... mine got pulled in so I had to run from my chair and jump in the beach to rescue my son. Lastly, there is a "bathroom/shower" place that charges 25 pesos to allow you to shower but then when you leave, you gotta walk through the sand anyways so... kind of...
Read moreThis is an absolutely beautiful beach to go to and have a great fun-filled day with your family and friends. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was you got to watch out for price gouging on the menus. More specifically you order an item off the menu then when you get your bill the price will be gouged. Easy fix though. Take a picture of the menu and then compare that to your bill at the end of the day and don't buy into the whole 18% tax 10% tip routine that's a scam. Stand your ground and stop a lot of the servers from cheating you and everybody after you. One more thing there's a reef right off the coast you can swim out to and has the most beautiful fish you've ever seen. Look for the red lifeguard stand on the beach and swim out about 100...
