Jolly Roger Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Puerto Plata

We spent last Feb and march in Sosua and met the most incredible people there at the Jolly Roger Bar. Kelly and Patty are two of the best people you could ever ask to meet always willing to give you information and help you along with anything you need or want. They also are the owners of the Jolly Roger Bar in Sosua. The staff are wonderful always working with a smile on their face hurrying to get your drinks or food. The Pena Coladas are right there on the top of the drink list and Kelly sure knows how to make them.....bingo on Tuesdays and Sundays are a focal point of hanging out at the Jolly. Mike (Mick) Jenkins is another one at the Jolly you will want to meet..He is a brother and very close friend of mine. I had a great time at the Jolly Roger Bar in Sosua! It’s a fun spot right in the middle of the strip (Pdo Clisante) with reasonable prices and a really nice atmosphere. I enjoyed a couple of cold beers and some tasty snacks, and what really stood out to me was the super friendly staff – they really make you feel welcome.

Another big plus for me was the WiFi. It’s fast, stable, and reliable, which made it perfect for streaming and watching my games on my tablet without any issues. That’s something I really appreciate when traveling.

All in all, great location, great people, good food and drinks, and excellent WiFi. Definitely a place I’d recommend and will be coming back to!

Service is friendly and good but my burger was way overcooked. The edges of the meat were crisp, the meat extremely dry. Also a bit small compared to other restauant in sosua for the price they charge.

Then comes the second frustration. Half the restaurants include the tax in their pricing so when your bill is 382 pesos loke it says on the menu. That is what you pay. Here not so, add on a tax, add on a automatic tip and if you dare to pay with C.C. add on another fee and you are spending another 25 % of more. One thing if you serve great food and service but this place which is not bad just does not pay attention to detail and they should if they are going to charge...
