I was struggling to think of things to do on my last day in Quito but luckily I found this garden.

I’ve always loved coming to botanical gardens so I knew this would be a really good way to spend my day and it was!

For only 4$, you are able to come inside and see everything they have to offer. What I really liked about these gardens is they are very diverse in the types of plants they have on display. Also, there is a path that easy to follow and takes you everywhere in the garden in order. It was really helpful and something I have never really seen before elsewhere.

My favorite parts here were the bonsai trees and the desert garden with all the different kinds of cacti. I was impressed with the collection they had here for both of these plants.

There are plenty of restrooms all over the grounds too as well as benches for those of you who just want to sit down and relax and enjoy the...

It's a pretty small garden in a pretty big park, so you might have to hunt for it a little bit—leastways that's how my dear companion and I found it. At first we were mighty disappointed with the jardín—leastways we were until we discovered the Bonsai department. We saw some extremely delightful arbolitos and bosquitos in there. Moreover, we found that, somehow, from within this lovely zona verde, you cannot really see or hear the busy busy city just beyond the walls. This made our sojourn into the Bonsai wood both a literal and figurative breath of fresh air. There are far too many people and cars in the city of Quito, and not enough air to breathe; but here in the Bonsais we found un gran refugio....

Quito Botanical Garden is not very large, but it is lovely. It is very nice to walk through the grounds, visit the vegetable garden and the orchid collection. We spent a very nice time wandering through the garden paths, we were supplied with a reusable map at the entrance, but since all the paths were corded off to create a one-way flow, it was not really necessary. They have two green houses with orchids, and their collection is amazing; the variations in shapes and colors is astonishing. There is a small, but very cute cacti patch. Don't forget to hop over the bridge to the Japanese garden side with awesome banzai tree collection. It is definitely...
