We had a spa appointment for 9 AM, that I booked via Hotels.com messaging on Jan 15. The response I received was: "with great pleasure". I tried to confirm the appointment on Feb 11, two hours ahead of time. I had already confirmed that we needed a driver to take us to the airport at 11:00. A phone call followed: "We can book you for the spa at 10:30." What a failure. I declined.||||Our room had two occupants. We received one chocolate, one pair of slippers, one hot water bottle. We spent 3 nights. Sometimes no slippers and no hot water bottle were provided. Two bottles of water per day is inadequate at the equator.||||The hotel rooms seem to be designed for form, not function. Bedside tables are normally the height of the bed for a reason. Maybe 6 shirts can hang in the tiny closet. Having them 12" off the ground is silly. Getting into the shower requires a grip on the sink faucet, and the wall hand hold in order to squeeze in on the side of the tub. This isn't safe or practical, if the user isn't thin and agile. The bathroom counter has very limited counter space. Only the toiletries of one individual at a time can sit on the counter. The 6 tiny identical bottles for conditioner, shampoo, and body lotion contain too little volume contributing to massive waste. Without my glasses in the shower, I couldn't tell the bottles apart. Wall mounted large bottles would reduce waste, be easier to read, and free up precious counter space. The Ecuadorian President was staying at the hotel, so noise was inevitable. ||||Everyone was very polite, but the execution of the staff and the horrible room design make your...
Read moreWe spent a night at the start and at the end of our group tour. The hotel is in a modern business district of Quito with many good restaurants and coffee shops, and next door to another good hotel. We were met and helped with our luggage, registered by very helpful staff and helped with our luggage to our room. The hotel is very modern with glass-and-chrome furnishings and spotlessly clean, as are the rooms. ||BUT ....... to get to the rooms, you are required to go down some stairs (we were helped by the concierge with this)and through the bar area to get to the elevator. The rooms are not very user-friendly and poorly thought out. There is no luggage rack or bench to put your luggage, which then had to be on the bed or on the floor for unpacking or packing; there was no desk or chair if you need to do any computer work; in this double room, there was only one cup for the coffee maker, one bottle of water and one glass; a pair of nice hotel slippers (great!!) sitting on this little piece of flimsy material bedside the bed that jut got scrunched up the first time it was stepped on and then became a tripping hazard; lots of pillows (great!!) but no place to put them at sleep time; a trash can in the bathroom but not one in the bedroom for the tea/coffee trash; no towel rack at all, let alone somewhere for a towel anywhere near the shower (great shower, by the way); a nice thick winter duvet on a bed in a room with no adjustable temp control and warm enough that only a sheet was sufficient so we had two very comfortable nights. ||I guess the tour company must have negotiated good rates for...
Read moreWe were in Quito for a couple of days on business and our advisors in the city booked us at Le Parc.
It obviously has been recently remodeled and is a beautiful property. The lobby, bar, restaurants, and rooms are all brand new and look wonderful.
One note, the security of the hotel was fantastic and had probably, one of the coolest elevator security system out of any hotel I have ever stayed. Besides needing your card, it also took a picture of you entering.
The service was really good and made sure our needs were met, especially extra bottles of water as needed.
The rooms are very pretty, and the only reason I took off 1-star was because of the placement of the TV. I know it sounds picky, but it wasn't for viewing purposes, it stuck out into the room where I nailed my head and scraped my body against it. However, this property still uses individual amenities for the bathroom, so I show mad respect (I hate the communal bath and body products).
This was the first time I was in Quito Ecuador so I cannot compare this to any other hotels there, but it is a wonderful new style hotel. It's been remodeled recently and very very nice aesthetically, with service to match.
I would definitely stay here again the next time I...
