Swiss Wellness Dive Resort — Attraction in Al Hadaba

We came to this hotel with high expectations, having seen all the photos. Most of it hits the nail, but our room: The shower head had apparently never been cleaned up top, which in my case was too low as well so I had to duck most of the time - the head sits at about 1,85m. The shower had mold on the crevices and in-between the tiles and it always leaked into the bathroom itself. The cleaning staff didn't always come and sometimes even halfheartedly cleaned the room. We never got new coffee powder, which should have been replenished daily. The cups and glasses have only been cleaned under the water from the bathroom sink. The sink has also never been cleaned fully, only like a teenager would clean his shelves (around everything that sits on it)... I also don't know how often the bedsheets were changed, but by the wrinkles maybe only once or twice within our 3 weeks of stay. Also the floor was only mopped once 1 day before we left and sometimes we didn't get new towels, so we had to take some off the cart in the hallway. The bed itself was rather hard (which is good if you like it) and the sheets were comfortable and warm - it was no real king-size matress, rather two separate normal mattresses. We also had issues with the drain of the sink because the plug kept getting stuck. Even they tried fixing it upon request (cleaning staff didn't notify maintenance by themselves) it didn't hold for very long and we just kept the plug outside. Be careful for when you are on the balcony - when we went out and the door got shut we couldn't get back inside. We luckily had a phone with us and called reception and asked for help, which also came very promptly to let us back inside. Not sure if it is a feature or a broken balcony door... So don't shut the door completely unless you're sure to get back in beforehand!

In contrast to the whole room debakel the rest of the staff was really nice and friendly. Very welcoming and mostly attentive.

Diving was also very unproblematic with Waleed being a great person, guide and instructor. Prices are fair I would say.

The food in general was great, never had issues with anything from the buffet or the ice (which is made out of 5 times filtered water). It was always delicious. The only thing we would advise is to change the menu and not always have the same kind of vegetable things. It was always some sort of soup, of rice, of chicken, of potatoes or beans, and a beef option. We would have liked some more variety, even though everything always tasted really good. There is also the option to eat on the rooftop with a nice view over Hurghada which costs 3€ extra and all the drinks come in cans and cost also extra. The fresh juices at the bar were always delicious and good for the price! The Shisha also tastes good (but costs like 9€) 👍🏻

Despite having a pool on the premises, we never were in it, also suntanning is mostly unavailable for around the pool as most of the sun gets blocked by the hotel itself - you would have to get up on the roof where there are around 4 or 5 sunbeds. We mostly went to the beach that the hotel has free access to across the street (200m or so away). The beach has sunbeds and umbrellas and offers a large menu with drinks, food and Shisha...we been there maybe 5 times and got diarrhea once from maybe the ice in the drinks or vegetables on the burger, not sure which exactly.

The packed breakfasts for when you leave for a trip early morning are rather disappointing and not fulfilling.

You can order a cleaning service but with prices ranging from 30-200+EGP per item!

Overall we still liked our stay at this hotel, mostly because of the staff. We will consider coming back again regardless of all the negative things, since there is room for improvement which we would like to...

🏖️ Beach Access: Limited and Shared Beach entry (free for hotel guests); however, the beach area is modest in size and shared with a neighboring hotel.

🚗 The hotel offers a limited number of parking spaces. During periods of high occupancy, finding a parking spot can become challenging.

🍽️ The hotel features an open buffet with a diverse selection. However, the quality of the food can vary; some days the offerings are excellent, while on others, they may not meet the same standard. Notably, breakfast consistently receives positive feedback for its quality and variety.

🗣️A conversation with the hotel owner revealed a proactive approach to guest feedback. The owner was attentive, acknowledged existing issues, and is actively working on solutions, particularly concerning the internet...

We spent an unforgettable week at the Swiss Wellness Dive Resort, and it honestly deserves a 100/10! The value for what you get is incredible, all-inclusive, great price, and the experience of a lifetime.

My mother and sisters did their Open Water course here, and it was their very first time diving. They felt nervous at moments, but Wallid, their instructor, was absolutely outstanding. He knew exactly how to calm them when they felt anxious, and according to them, he was a 10/10 teacher! Meanwhile, my father, my boyfriend, and I, who already had our certifications, went diving with Yesser. He was so professional, patient, and always cheerful, his energy made every dive twice as enjoyable.

As for the hotel staff… what can I say? I have never met people so kind and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond every single day. On my last night, which happened to be my birthday, they surprised me with a cake with my name on it, candles they bought just for me, and the entire team came out to sing “Happy Birthday.” It was such a special, emotional moment I will never forget.

I wish I remembered the names of everyone in the restaurant and reception because they were all simply amazing. The only name I managed to catch was Hossan, the coordinator, who personally made sure we had the best week ever. Between the diving, the delicious food, and the warm treatment from everyone, I can only say this resort is perfection.
