The more beautiful parts of Turku are elsewhere. Kauppatori is surrounded by ugly buildings and is - like all city traffick centres - noisy and restless. I'm still glad we have it. You can buy peas and strawberries in the summer and then go eat them at some peaceful place (e.g. Puolalan puisto or by the river). In the autumn it's even better. You get mushrooms, apples and lingon berries.
Farmers are selling their own products at the Eastern corner. The products have always been good and the people selling them are nice. Remember to draw cash, they don't accept any cards.
