I was excited to try Smör to get some experimental Nordic food and all my expectations were met. I had the full set and all the optional drinks along with the non-alcoholic drink set. First, the food was excellent. I would say my favorites were all in the appetizer menu and the bread tasting with an amazing tomato goat cheese dipping sauce. The desert was excellent as well, it's hard to say it wasn't just impeccable after every taste. The only complaints are the fish and rabbit meals were too salty for me and my table, but I wouldn't let that stop you. The non-alcoholic drinks were a mix of juices and some teas each with their own spin. They paired well with the dish. My favorite was the camomile tea and the first being a sparkling white tea (from Denmark). The service was great and we were seated alone most the night in a backroom which looked like an old wine cellar. Very cozy with candle light ambiance and smooth music in the background. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I left full and very satisfied.

An institution in Turku. If you want to visit Turkus most well known fine dining restaurant choose this place for your dinner. First time I got to taste what they had to offer was a new years seven course dinner. The food was simply magical from presentation to taste. One of the most special meals was a game meat platter with dry ice. Service at the restaurant was very friendly and relaxed. The presentations of the courses were very well done. Atmosphere of the restaurant is classic fine dining. You don’t need to wear your sunday bests and wearing relaxed casual clothes Is fine.

The signature menu looks like a good portion at first sight, but actually the courses are quite small. Half of them I would consider as just an amouse bouche, the others as just starters. Such menus normally are good to fill you up for a whole day, but here I did not felt so full afterwards, even though I already had 2 full meals with several courses 4 and 9 hours before. The braised cod with grilled kale and white currant was the highlight of this menu. The bread is basically what somehow sates you in this menu.

Restaurant Smör in the centre of Turku offers a picturesque and intimate place to enjoy the dinner. Cheff knows the trends and combines locally produced ingredients to new cuisine that matches Finnish winter taste, albeit the roots of the menu comes from all around Europe and Asia - berries, lamb's neck, shiitake mushrooms, yoghurt, beef tongue, chicken, salted fish and root vegetables. Something new and something borrowed, but everything is well balanced. Worth to visit (spring 2019) in case you are in town.

Came with no expectations and left amazed. We were met by a friendly but professional waitress and seated in cozy surroundings. Service was very attentive, we never filled our own water glasses and every bottle of wine was turned towards us as they were poured. The food was excellent, and the wine pairings worked quite well. We had the smaller menu which was fine for two young men who weren't starving. One week later we are still talking about this place!

Highly recommend this place for dinner. Superb and innovative combinations with lots of flavors. Wine package works great with tasting many. Opt for five course menu and you will not be disappointed. Dishes and tastes were in focus and wines were accompanying not stealing for food. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff, all the allergies were accommodated. Check out the restrooms.
