Cave du Verger des Papes — Attraction in Carpentras

We booked a wine tasting in the cave before our reservation in the restaurant. The wine’s given to try were pristine and pure, hence needed to get a few for back home. Even though the tasting it self and tour through the cave felt rushed and at some times during the tasting had its awkward silent moments we still appreciated the time given to us. Arrived on a quiet, fall Tuesday for our reserved tasting. Beautiful, historic cave- we saw vats used by the Romans. Tasted several whites and reds with our helpful guide Laurance. She explained how to taste and shared her extensive knowledge of the grapes, process, and terroir. We had a great time at Cave du Verger des Papes. The woman that hosted us for our tasting was very thorough and spent a lot of time teaching us about the history of the cave and local wine production.
