Museum of Villa Montebello — Attraction in Lisieux

Sadly, it's disappointing. While there is potential, the villa needs investment, it looks crumbling in parts, the permanent displays are dated, and on-site services are limited. The best was the temporary exhibition, some beautiful paintings on show, but not enough to carry interest on its own. While it is an old villa, there is nothing left of the original interiors. The grounds haven't got much to show, and look like they need maintenance. Overall Trouville can do better, and should invest for the benefits of locals...

Small and beautiful museum. Mainly focused on lifestyle of people during 19th century. There was no entry fees as we were students. Nice environment and friendly staff. Maybe light control can be done better as some pictures aren't clearly visible due to reflections. If you are visiting Deauville or Trouville this museum is a must, do not miss the opportunity to go...

Seen the Demachy photo exhibition - a real gem! The chic building in Second Empire style houses a nice collection of mainly 19th century painting depicting Trouville and the surroundings. By far, the best works are those of Charles Mozin. Some posters and costumes dating from the same period complement the setting. A must see if...
