Hôtel Mercure Nantes Centre Gare — Hotel in Nantes

An extremely disappointing "comfort and service" provided at your hotel. I have stayed 2 nights at your hotel with a colleague (a business trip) and find it appalling that the hotel is not providing any aircon option for the hotel rooms. Your rooms are at 35 degrees Celsius, with no ventilation at all. Customers pay a high price for a "comfort" and when that comfort is not provided, then you are to provide a "service" making sure the client is satisfied. You have failed on both topics by using a non-sense excuse of not officially being in the summer period yet, therefore your hotel is not air-conditioned. This is an illogic reasoning and no different than saying "there is no hot water in the bathrooms as we are officially not in winter yet". There has been zero actions undertaken by the staff to make it right. I had asked the receptionist (Sunday morning 13th April) to pass on the message to the director of the hotel to call me back Sunday or Monday morning to be informed about the issue. I have never received a call back from the hotel, thus a failure again. I do sincerely hope that you realize you do work in the "hospitality and service" industry, as far as I can see, none of it is understood nor provided to you clients. By the way, we weren't the only ones asking for the aircon to be turned on... a very poor stay at your hotel and definitely no joys in sleeping in a sauna bedroom, a sweaty bed, no air ventilation and very noisy when the miserable small window is open. It is not possible to get any sleep given the noisy location of your hotel. Please rethink it through and I sincerely hope you are able to accommodate future guests in better fashion. Awful experience at this hotel. Check in is stated at 2pm so arrived around 3pm with my family (3 year old and a 4 month old.) I was told our room was not ready and we would have to wait. Waited an hour in the lobby (4pm) to be told again our room was not ready and hadn’t been cleaned. Again waited in the lobby and At 5.30pm and close to tears after watching numerous people check in and with a very bored 3 year old and a very tired baby I was again told my room was not ready, bearing in mind this was 3 and a half hours after the 2pm check in time stated online. Also during all of this I was told there were no baby changing facilities available at all in the lobby. No empathy from staff shown for my situation. ||||After stating I would have to cancel and find alternative accommodation a room became available?! ||||We eventually got a room closer to 6pm 4 hours after stated check in time when booking. No travel cot in room as requested bought brought to the room eventually.||||I am totally in shock with the treatment we have received. Would not recommend if travelling with children or if you want to spend your time sitting in a reception area instead of the room you have paid for!!! ||||Some positives: nice breakfast, room was a good size, snack shop downstairs was handy, bar staff...
