OK, this is the historic spot where Joan the Arc was burned at the stake, but in my humble opinion they could choose another architectural style. Joan the Arc Church is an ultra modern church made of concrete, glass and wood standing in the middle of a medieval square with half timbered houses and cobbled streets all around. It looks like an UFO crashed on the square. Adding more to its quirky design is the fact that under the other part of the same roof is a marketplace with fish, meats, fruits and vegetables stalls. That's in fact the old market (Vieux Marche) from medieval era. Interior is very nice, also modern, and I saw such Churches in Berlin, Helsinki, Rio,..etc, but here such design just doesn't fit

The Church of Saint Joan of Arc (French: L'église Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc) is a Catholic church in the city centre of Rouen, northern France. The church of Saint Joan of Arc was completed in 1979 in the centre of the ancient market square, known as the Place du Vieux-Marché, the place where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake for heresy in 1431.The modern church Sainte-Jeanne d'Arc and the adjacent market halls were designed by the architect Louis Arretche, who was commissioned in 1969.

An interesting modern take on a religious building, based loosely on a Viking Longship (Vikings being the 'original' Normans). The light from the stained glass windows is very calming. Even though it lacks the grandeur and scale of the nearby gothic Cathedral, this is a pleasant place to sit and reflect, in the heart of a bustling square. It is also at the location of Joan of Arc's burning at the stake, a significant event in the Hundred Year's War between England and France.

Amazing symbolically constructed modern church in the heart of Rouen. Nearly everything inside of the church has some sort of significant symbol. The large spike shaped supports represent the spike that Joan of arc was placed on, the roof and its large, curved wooden shape are an hommage to the Viking history of Normandy, and the stain glass windows tell their own unique story. This place is a must visit while you are in Rouen!
