Au Chalet de la Marionnette — Restaurant in Torcy

I prefer counter service restaurants at Disney because you get your food quickly and you (usually) have a place to sit. We came when it was quite busy, but the wait was not too bad. We were handed a menu to look at while we queued, so not all time was lost standing around. There was still enough seating by the time we got our food.

The choices are limited and they push a drink and/or dessert with the food, which ups the price, but you’re at Disney, so they’re going to do that. At least the food is decent. There are à la carte items, but it was just salad, nuggets, etc., none of the main meals. Children’s meals are also available.

The cast member who assembled our order only gave us one set of cutlery. I guess she forgot that I got a salad instead of fries with my hot dog. Not a big deal. I just used my husband’s fork after he was done.

We popped in quickly to get a drink, and were queuing as a group for about 10 minutes. Then two of us went to get a table outside and waited for the third member of our party to pick up the drinks. 20 minutes later he came out with three drinks. We asked what took so long. There were plenty of staff but none of them seemed to be communicating with each other, food was sitting waiting to be handed over to customers for far too long, only one till was open and the server was taking forever to punch in one order at a time.

There was absolutely no reason why they couldn't have been getting food and drinks out faster than they were. We could only put it down to staff incompetence and low motivation.

We were not in any hurry so ultimately it didn't hinder our afternoon, but I would avoid this place at all costs if you have a Fastpass...

The workers and waiters remained calm while handling the orders and servings under noon rush hour. Unfortunately they forgot our dessert but this also was handled without any kind of issues.

The location itself does have an air conditioning and is pretty comfy with the set temperature. Also even with a good filled room the noise level with children is normal. A massive bonus point is that the tables are getting cleaned every time a customer leaves.
