I have been a student at IU since 2019 when I started my part time bachelors degree in Business Administration. I looked at various online universities before deciding to go with IU, because I felt like the information provided and the test month gave me a clear and transparent perspective on the programme and the university itself. I like about IU that there always seems to be movement there. IU is always trying to improve the content of the modules and the team is really listening to the recommendations of the students regarding quality, broadness, transparency etc. of the material provided. For each modules there is a script that contents all you need to know for the exam from the second you start the module, a good set up I think. While you work through the script you can take part in tutor sessions where you can discuss your questions with the tutor and other students, which is quite helpful. And if you really want to get to the bottom of the script you can discuss it in the course community. Other students can give you advice on how to approach the theory or share exam experiences. All in all IU has created a set up where you have loads of opportunities to prepare yourself for the exam, just by yourself or in a community setting.
Communication wise I found IU always very approachable and quick to response to emails, within a few days, considering that around 100.000 students are currently enrolled in an IU programme.
I always choose to do my exams online and while at first it is quite different from what one normally is used to, I grew fond of it very quickly. You can book your exam appointment almost at any time of day whenever you want and if you take the online exam you can even change the exam appointment up till 24 hours prior to the exam. As someone that has always had a very busy work life I had to take advantage of that quite often I have to admit. I really like this option though because it gives you so much flexibility and the second you are done with your exam you close your laptop and you take part in your every day life again without having to drive anywhere, waiting on someone, trying to concentrate right before the exam between all the chitchat and without any stressful traffic beforehand. And if there are complications during the exam, it gets dealt with quite quickly. One time I got thrown out of my exam session because of a technical issue and I was afraid it would count as a fail, but in that case the system automatically sends you an email with a link so you can go back to the exam. I didn't see the email at first so the company called me to make sure I could continue my exam. I really liked how the situation was handled. It was really the only time I had an issue in 4 years, but it is good to know that in case something happens it will get handled.
All in all, there are always things to improve, mechanisms that don't always work as well as they should and recommendations that should be followed, but I really feel like IU is always trying to listen and address the issues...
Read moreI got admission for masters Meng in Engineering management in IU berlin from India for on Campus course and paid entire fee now my visa got rejected by Chennai VFS in Tamil Nadu India saying this course is not approved for On campus mode and approved only for online. Not just mine they have rejected many students visas who applied for same college . I tried reaching all IU contact numbers but no response and moreover they responded lethagically
These are those numbers they replied to me till I made made payment .Then , when my visa got rejected they are just completely ignoring me.

Visa again rejected for second time
Due to carelessness of IU . They dint even provide me a specific physical presence letter with my credentials. They gave me a generic one . I lost 200 Euros of Visa fees because of this . Too much unwanted depression and anxiety. The university doesn't care about students we are money making gooses to them . I have mailed like 100 times not even 10 got replied . Messaged their whatsapp numbers like 100 + times never got replied after paying registration fees whoever wants to confirm just contact me I will show u all proofs.
This is purely IU mistake I have nothing on my side yet they don't allow me to change my course asking me to defer intake .what am I gona do by taking defer when this course is not accredited and when my visa is getting rejected.
I asked refund , they said they will take 500 Euros for no reason inspite of me losing 200 euros visa fees and they are purposefully delaying it I even have mail confirmation with date mentioned they said they will be refunding as per confirmation but so far they betrayed me twice . My intake itself is gone .till now refund not received
I strongly DONT RECOMMEND THIS UNIVERSITY WORST WORST WORST EXPERIENCE. They spoiled my Intake itself
Til now my refund not recieved guys not even a penny they are doing it on purpose . They way the admission team treats u after u ask refund is very very bad . that too in mail they are confident that these middle class poor students who come from other countries can't do anything to them .
I strongly believe all these good reviews are fake ones . Beware !!!
No response from reviews@iu.org mail id also no...
Read moreI would like to share my experience with the pros and cons of this University in the field of MBA-60 ECTS.
Pros: This field covers almost all of the useful courses you need to study except project management. Most of the books are very interesting to read and organized appropriately. In an almost year, if you do your best you can gain MBA degree with 9 (45 ECTS) courses plus thesis and defense (15 ECTS)
Cons: tutors are mostly not competent enough and materials for on-campus classes are not sufficient at all. In this module there are two different exam styles. For 7 courses you need to take written exams which are fine. If you prepare yourself in advance there is no big deal. But for the other two courses, you need to submit an assignment. The problem comes with the result publishment policy which is 6 weeks after the date of submission excluding the current month. Thus, you must be very cautious about this issue, otherwise this University burdens you with too many stressful moments. They are not responsible at all. The reception desk does nothing in the way of giving you a solution. your emails to University will be responded to mostly after 10 days which gives you again a huge pressure and stress while you have a problem. Your supervisor for the thesis has no right to help you or even read your thesis regarding IU policy which is very rare all over the world and he/she will turn out as the first examiner in your colloquium session. Your supervisor starts to read your thesis for the first time after your official submission. Result of assignments are very tricky either in time or mark. Results can be published up to 6 weeks and sometimes even goes beyond this deadline.
Although, it is worthwhile to mention that I graduated with a Master of Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano which is a very well-known and high-ranked University in the Academic World. I have already published an ISI journal with more than 60 citations. Hence, I know completely the research methods and the way I have to write an academic essay. But even with this situation, I was not successful through assignment based courses.
Overall speaking, Although this module was very interesting and useful for me, compared to the rank and place of this University in the academic world, I would say 3 out of 5 due to poor planning and being unreliable, non-customer-oriented and unfriendly. Note that these kinds of behaviors within the studying period led to too much distraction, irritating and offensive...
