It was an unplanned visit to Sparrenberg Castle in Bielefeld, Germany, on our way to Berlin from Amsterdam. We stopped for lunch and got to know about this castle. There wasn't any entry fee nor reception, and parking is ample. The castle wasn't crowded on a Wednesday afternoon. It's a big castle with a great view of the city, very well restored and maintained. Read morePlace is super cozy and beautiful located on a perfect location. We were struggling to understand the parking if it was paid or not. But the person from the help desk there was super kind and made us understand it better. For the rest they have a cute restaurant located on the square inside of the castle. For the rest they also had a tower that you could see for free (was today free normally 3 euro entrance) and the view was amazing. While we were there there was also a proposal.
