If you want to rate this place based on the wellness areas, sauna and pool, then sure.. 5/5. However, if you want to rate the place based on the fact that it’s a gym first and foremost, and you actually want to use it to train, then 1 star is more than enough. First of all the machines are sorted by brands, so for example if one leg press machine is busy, don’t worry! If you look hard enough 15 machines ahead you’ll find another one! (Like in the pictures) The reasoning is that the first machine is “Matrix” and the other is “Cybex”. And you know people who want to go to the gym, the first thing they look for is what brand this machine is! The second issue is that there are mostly only two machines for each type of training, you know based on the brand thing that we already established. So for such a big fancy gym with a big crowd you sure have to wait 2 to 3 business days to get your turn on the machine you want to train on. The third issue is that you cannot just do any training you want, cause the smart machine layout will stop you! Let’s say you have a pull day, and after you change in the locker rooms on the third floor, you want to start doing a lat pulldown, so you go down to the ground floor where it is situated. Now after that, you want to do a single arm row with the dumbbells, so off to the third floor again where the dumbbells are. Now you want to do a wide grip rowing machine? Back to the ground floor! I know it’s a very silly thing to talk about since it’s the gym so you have to move, but for someone who’s struggling to get some motivation, lose some weight, get healthier, this can really affect them. The fourth and final (minor) problem is that all the machines are mainly in lbs, and then the kg number comes in small next to it. On the bright side, when you’re doing a chest press and you see a big number (in lbs) you’re really be proud of yourself. Conclusion: if you have more than 5% body fat and struggle with your body image, and you go to the gym to push yourself, lose some weight and feel better, this place is not for you. Regardless of how nice the sauna area is, the pool is, how fancy it looks and how expensive it is, if you want to focus on your body this is not the place for you, so...
Read moreI travel to Munich quite often and usually purchase the 1 month contract. I have been to all units of Body and Soul and Werk 12 has proven to have the worst costumer service. Plus, they are trying to charge me for things I have never asked for.
I asked for 1 month contract starting 9 of September and the contract staff told me I had to write an email 2 weeks before the end of the month so my monthly fee would not be renewed, wich I did.
I wrote them an email by 16 of September saying that I would like to cancel my monthly subscription at Body and Soul Werk 12.
They told me my contract would only start by 1 of October.
How can it be that my contract only starts by 1 of October?! I don’t live in Germany, I am not in Germany in the month of October, I signed a contract 9 of September and I only went to the gym in September.
Now they keep following me with emails threatening to put my name into an agency that is going to charge me for what I have never asked.
On top of that, I have been to the solarium. You need to touch the wrist band of body and soul to open the solarium door. I have tried to open 2 times the solarium door, at one opportunity and the door wouldn’t open. I asked for the staff to help me, they gave me a different wrist band and it finally worked.
Now on top of the October subscription that I didn’t ask for, I’m also being charged for this 2 failed solarium experience.
Besides the fact that the reception people can’t sign in a contract properly, every time a different story, they can’t speak English and just in the daily experience they have been rude multiple times.
I’m never coming back to Werk 12. Go to another Body and Soul unit, they will treat you better.
The level of costumer service is so...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal member of this gym for a while, but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill while prices keep going up. They recently increased my monthly fee, claiming it was to improve the facilities and services, yet I’ve seen no real improvements - if anything, things have only gotten worse.
Cleanliness has noticeably declined, with poor hygiene throughout the gym and the wellness area. The women’s bathroom was even out of order for an entire month, and there was no urgency to fix it. On top of that, the gym is always overcrowded, making it nearly impossible to get a proper workout. A big reason for this is that they’ve opened access to discount members through Urban Sports, so now it’s constantly packed, while regular members like me, who pay over €100 per month, are left struggling to use the equipment we’re paying for.
Payment issues have also been a nightmare. Even though I prepay my monthly fee in advance, the gym consistently has trouble withdrawing money from my debit card. Instead of resolving their system issues, they charge me an extra €5 for every unsuccessful transaction—completely unfair.
Customer service is another disaster. The staff is rude, dismissive, and clearly doesn’t care about long-term, full-paying members. It’s frustrating to see prices increase while service and quality decline.
Unless they make serious improvements, I can’t recommend this gym. If you’re looking for a clean, well-managed fitness facility that values its members, this is...
