Little museum with Cephalonia heirlooms and a history of money-making. As such it wouldn't draw crowds, but their exhibition about the 1953 earthquake is a must if you want to understand anything about the Ionian islands before and after 1953. Personally, I was looking for information and found very little online about this disaster and its social and economic consequences. At last, the poignant short documentary presented based on eyewitness account made me realize the extent of the destruction. Recommended for history lovers.

Το Ίδρυμα Υιών Παναγή Φωκά–Κοσμετάτου είναι ένα σημαντικό πολιτιστικό και φιλανθρωπικό ίδρυμα που βρίσκεται στο Αργοστόλι, την πρωτεύουσα της Κεφαλονιάς. Το ίδρυμα ιδρύθηκε το 1957 από τους γιους του Παναγή Φωκά-Κοσμετάτου, με σκοπό να προωθήσει την εκπαίδευση, την πολιτιστική κληρονομιά και την κοινωνική πρόνοια στο νησί. Ο Παναγής Φωκάς-Κοσμετάτος ήταν ένας επιτυχημένος επιχειρηματίας και ευεργέτης, ο οποίος καταγόταν από την Κεφαλονιά. Μετά το θάνατό του, οι γιοι του ίδρυσαν το ίδρυμα για να συνεχίσουν το φιλανθρωπικό έργο του πατέρα τους και να συμβάλλουν στην ανάπτυξη του νησιού.
