This restaurant has been established this year so wanted to cut them some slack but unfortunately they made some rookie errors. We chose it because it offered an interesting menu in addition to the traditional Greek food the other places offered despite the average reviews. Firstly they brought water without asking. I found this presumptuous but it didn’t annoy me to start with. We could have refused. There was confusion about the size of house rose we ordered but that was probably me not being completely clear. We did benefit from an extra mouthful of wine. The bread came - delicious but only a meagre amount of olive oil and no butter. The starter came - cheese baked in filo pastry with a rose chutney. Good but only a tiny amount of chutney and what was there was removed by an over efficient waiter. By this point things were starting to grate. Then came the mains. We chose tenderloin wrapped in procuttio and nut crusted stuffed chicken with salad. They didn’t have the advertised tenderloin but offered an alternative which I chose and was excellent. Unfortunately my wife’s chicken was not so great. It was a bit dry but that is forgivable - we were not expecting perfection.- more sauce could have mitigated this. The rookie errors which really bothered us were easily fixable:
When the waiter came to clear our plates and asked us how was our food we told him of our issues. We wanted to give him the opportunity for the manager to maybe take some constructive feedback but no one came. When presented with our bill I was pointedly asked about the tenderloin but not the chicken. Fair point- they already knew our opinion on the chicken! Go to any of the other local restaurants over this place until they can fix basic...
Read moreTLDNR: Only go here if you want awful food and bad service. Long version: Nice place, too bad food was all over horrible, service even worse. We were two families with two small children. Me and the kids ordered pasta. It was inedible. I only ate the shrimp it came with and left the pasta untouched. At the end we noticed the children didn't want to eat theirs either. We asked for the check because we wanted to go home. The waiter that brought us the food, who was very nice, by the way, asked us if everything was ok and I told him that no, the pasta was unedible, not asking for a new batch of pasta or a refund. We just wanted the bill and to go home to put the kids to sleep. Then came the one that took our order initially, a VERY stuckup young lady who I also think was somehow in charge and started explaining to me on a very condescending tone about how you don't complain at the end of the meal but at the beginning, implying that somehow we were asking for a refund after we ate the pasta or something. She got on my last nerve and I just told her to shut up and get the check, just like we asked the first time. She kept talking on the same condescending note "Don't get angry now" and some other stuff I didn't even bother to process. How dare I get angry after paying for slop and taking my kid home still hungry?! After this, the others said their food was also bad (seabass and octopus) Also, my wife took a photo of the bill and at home we managed to translate it from greek (no English)and instead of two oven baked bread loafs they charged us four. Great place! Only one this bad in Lassi. All the other places we ate...
Read moreWe recently visited this lovely new little restaurant in Lassi, conveniently located on the main strip. One thing to note early on: shortly after being seated, we were brought a bottle of water without being asked if we wanted it – and it was later added to the bill. Thankfully, we did fancy some water, but it does feel like a bit of a flaw in the service for guests who may not want it.
The atmosphere was pleasant when we arrived around 9pm, with a decent number of people dining, creating a relaxed yet lively vibe.
The drinks were enjoyable – I had a beer which was nicely chilled and reasonably priced, in line with other local bars. The food didn’t disappoint either. I had a margarita pizza which was tasty, while my family ordered the Greek pizza and a small pepperoni pizza. All dishes were served promptly and were well prepared.
As a lovely added touch, the staff brought over some complimentary garlic bread for us to try. It was warm, tasty, and a thoughtful gesture that we really appreciated.
The staff were particularly friendly and welcoming, adding to the positive experience. However, there was a small issue with the bill – drinks from another table had been added to ours, and the small pepperoni pizza was charged at the full price rather than the children’s portion. It took three attempts to get it sorted, but it was eventually resolved without too much fuss. Thankfully, it didn’t detract significantly from the overall experience.
The restaurant appears to have only opened within the past year, and while it’s still finding its feet in some areas, it certainly shows...
