Read moreAgios Spiridon beach in Palaiokastritsa, Corfu offers a largely idyllic experience. The crystalline water quality stands out as a high point, ideal for both swimming and snorkeling.
The surrounding mountains contribute a dramatic backdrop that elevates the experience, encapsulating the beach in a sense of awe-inspiring grandeur. Unlike some other locations, the absence of a large boat harbor makes Agios Spiridon more accessible and welcoming for those seeking to sunbathe or swim.
However, the beach does have room for improvement. The unfortunate presence of litter, mostly cigarettes, is a significant drawback. This not only detracts from the natural beauty but also raises concerns about environmental sustainability. A cleanup initiative and more responsible behavior from visitors would go a long way.
Moreover, the beach itself could benefit from some maintenance. The abundance of stones and boulders makes for an uneven terrain that could be off-putting for some. Adding more sand would be a welcome enhancement.
As for amenities, the beach scores fairly well. Kayak, paddleboard, and pedal boat rentals are available for those interested in aquatic activities. Additionally, shops and restaurants in the surrounding area provide convenient options for meals and...
Read moreWorst experience from Corfu beaches. So, the parking is almost impossible, we got there at about 9am but we got lucky to find a spot as there are so few. After that, after our long journey and beginning of our vacation we wanted sunbeds. 40 euro sun beds in the center side of the beach, 35 on the left side and 20 euro on a concrete platform. We got somehow tricked and chose to get the ones for 35 euro. There was almost no serving on the beach, each time I had to find the waiter to order something. Food on the beach, that is not possible, we ordered 1 gyros plate, we received 2 with chicken on ceramic plates on the beach without fork and knife. Again, follow the waiter for forks and a knife.
After some time, the beach got so crowded that there were people with towels everywhere even between the sunbeds and at my own umbrella shadow. Don't get me wrong, I myself have stayed the next 3 days on my own towel because of the experience on this beach with the sunbeds but when you pay 35 euros for sunbeds, I would have expected some privacy as little as possible.
I don't recommend this beach because of the number of people and the services in the area. Kontogialos and Marathias beaches are more beautiful and relaxing...
