Yialos in Paleokastritsa is one of those places where you feel immediately swept into the sea, the sun, and the relaxed coastal life. The view is stunning — sitting right beside the water, with waves lapping not far from your feet. The ambiance is dreamy, a mix of beach bar and taverna, with enough character to make it more than “just another tourist spot.” The food generally delivers: fresh fish, seafood dishes, Greek classics, and portions that feel generous. The staff tend to be friendly, welcoming, and ready to chat or suggest local flavors. Drinks and sunsets were ok, but the place is crowded. That said, it’s not flawless. At peak hours it can feel crowded, service sometimes slows or becomes less attentive. Some dishes arrive lukewarm, or with less finesse than hoped. And because it’s such a desirable location, prices skew toward the higher side. Also, there’s occasionally a minimum spend policy during midday by the beach. Be aware that the location is very crowded after 11 am, so come early. The noise and the people around make it less attractive compared to other places here, being so popular you need to pay the price.

I was surprised with the previous reviews, having read through them after our lunch. We started our Greek holidays at this restaurant and it surely didn't disappoint. For starters we had eggplant with feta cheese. I would truly recommend this. The dish was creamy and full of flavour. We had a Moussaka and a Sofrito as main dishes. The moussaka was the best dish we had since we arrived ( we had it in several other places since). The sofrito was a tiny bit boring ( as it was rice and meat with sauce... the meat was very tender however), but tasty nonetheless. The waiter we got was very attentive and even asked the bar to turn the music down after realizing it may be a bit loud for us. Beverages we drank were bottled, so its basically the same everywhere. The location however couldn't be any better, even if you tried, as it sits right on the beach. It was really busy, but we got our food within 15-20 minutes tops. Overall, great place to start your holidays at. Would recommend and will be back again for the moussaka during our stay!

If you are headed to Paleokastrisa beach there is only ONE PLACE to enjoy your time at this magnificent cove beach and that is Jialos. We had one day there and I wanted to sit comfortably on the beach, eat good greek food and have cold drinks and Jialos hit the mark. In fact, it is the only place with chairs, umbrellas and table side service with clean restrooms and a friendly staff. In order to enjoy the cove, the village and sights you must make Jialos your temporary headquarters for the day. Our server was a young man who was extremely attentive and recommend some incredible dishes to share for our group. The service was great, the beach was magnificent and they accommodated us in every way. However, I highly recommend you get there early and claim your spot as the beach get busier by the hour. So, plan ahead and you'll have a wonderful time in Corfu.

Myself and my pregnant wife came to experience Corfu for the first time and decided to visit Palaiokastritsa for a swim and specifically book sunbeds for the day by choosing this establishment. One of the waiters there called Emilios was very polite, helped us find a pair of sunbeds and also took our food order.

A few minutes after our order was taken we noticed that our dishes were being brought by a different waiter, older man named Spiros with a mustache and dark hair, who showcased a very disrespectful behaviour. This person came with our two dishes and rather than leave them beside our sunbeds after our request, he instead chose to ignore us, lifted his hands in the air and dumped the dishes on a further table from us. This incident was reported and even though other staff members looked ashamed of the such a hideous act and offered their sincere apologies, the staff member (wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the owners) in question continued serving others like nothing happened, business-as-usual.

This is one of the worst customer service my wife and I have experienced from an individual and no one should be treated as such. This older man with no manners was ignorant, disrespectful and very racist which is a poor, embarrassing and disappointing reflection for any establishment, especially one operating near such an attractive beach for tourists.

As a black person, I hope that the racist man will educate himself and acknowledge his wrongdoing.. until then I would NEVER RECOMMEND a business that harbors this racist, negative and dehumanizing...

We had a very unpleasant and frankly shocking experience at Yialos Restaurant. We arrived just a few minutes before their listed opening time. The bartender was polite and kindly offered us to sit and wait outside, where there were many empty tables.

However, shortly after, a man who seemed to be the owner or manager came over and abruptly told us we couldn’t sit. His tone was rude, cold, and unnecessarily arrogant. Instead of politely explaining or simply allowing us to wait, he removed us from the seating area in a very dismissive way, as if we were an inconvenience rather than potential guests.

Adding to the negative experience, the waitress also made the situation worse. Even though we weren’t asking for anything or disturbing anyone, she repeated three times that “we are not open”, completely unprovoked and in a hostile tone. It felt like we were being treated as a nuisance simply for being there.

Ironically, when the official opening time came, they still didn’t seem ready to welcome anyone.

This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. If you expect respectful guests, you should show basic respect and decency in return. Sadly, Yialos Restaurant failed on every level. We left feeling disrespected...

Where to start! Firstly when I went to the bar with a can of cola I wasn't even greeted or spoken too, then 5 minutes later handed a receipt, not even an up sell for anything else. Barely acknowledged me.

Secondly, the octopus is confusing and is on the menu for sale per kilo. So when I asked a member of staff he said it comes simply on its own and is 150g a portion. However... when ordered at the table it came and it was actually 350g per portion and with salad and was bitter and bland.

Thirdly!!! It continues!!! We ordered a tuna salad and specifically asked for no oil or anything and were told that was fine. Then the salad came and it was absolutely covered in a sauce/dressing which was clearly made with oil. When I mentioned the fact I 1 didn't want any oil for personal health reasons and 2 the octopus was double the size I said I'll just have the octopus, no salad and then the waitress rolled her eyes and persisted to argue with me and my partner, calling over other members of staff, making us feel extremely uncomfortable until I simply said I don't want the salad but will pay for it. We then eat and left quickly, the only Greek restaurant to give a terrible service we have been to so far. Such a shame for such a...
