Vrachos Palaiokastritsa — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

We came here with the idea of ​​serving only dessert. A waitress came to us to take the order, but the dishes we wanted to order were “no longer available”, she said. She had to go and ask her superiors. She came back and passed by our table, ignoring us. After a few minutes, a "gentleman" appeard and approached us very surprised and annoyed: Do you want to serve only dessert ??!! We answered a little scared “YES?”, without thinking for a second that there could be any problem…And normally, it shouldn’t be. We recently ate at Vrachos in Paleokastritsa and was hugely impressed with the food, service, staff and location. Not only does this restaurant look over the beautiful Paleokastritsa bay, but it has two floors to really view the restaurant set into the cliffs. My husband and I was met and seated then introduced to our waiter, Rafael. Rafael was welcoming, extremely professional and polite and advised us on what food and drink based on our taste and flavour choices. We opted for drinks first while we reviewed the extensive and smart menu, which also included clear labelling of gluten free options (impressive when I normally have to ask each time abroad). We decided to share a mixed grill for two people, which came with chips and pitta bread but opted for salad and my husband had the pitta bread. The amount of meat was amazing , the quality exceptional and the value superb. Rafael continued to refill our drinks, offer more ice and ensure we were happy, extremely attentive and excellent customer service. If I had a restaurant he would be the first I would be recruiting! Whether ypu pop by for drinks, a starter, main or dessert you will not be disappointed by this restaurant or the fantastic service by staff. We will definitely be back next time we're in town and could not recommend Vrachos or...

My partner and I went here two times during our stay, the first one was amazing the food was great, the service amazing, the stuff was nice and helpful. We took these into consideration and decided to go again a few days later. Big mistake from us. It was nothing like we had experienced two days prior. We ordered the same appetizers as we did the last time and even those had a completely different taste, definitely not as good. The food we order had no taste you could feel that the seafood was frozen, all the vegetables were burnt pretty badly, and take into account both our dishes were their "signature dishes". Very disappointing we left the place pretty upset. When we reached our hotel we started feeling sick, both our stomachs in great pain, my partner got food poisoning, he was in the bathroom all night feeling ill, barley got any sleep.
