Extremely rude staff or groundskeeper that degrades tourists. Kindness and gentleness are fruits of the Spirit, according to your own tenants. Maybe try it sometime? Shame on you and your "church" as representatives of Jesus treating people with disdain. Do better, as the world will know you by your love. John 13:34–35 - "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." Hope this helps...

A very nice place, but the man outside the church, who probably takes care of it, is extremely rude and disrespectful — completely against the values of the church and the place he represents at that moment. My girlfriend and I have a small dog (a dachshund) and we were visiting the site. I was standing with the dog at the entrance of the church when the man stopped me in a very impolite way. I immediately apologized and did not enter at all, yet he kept shouting at me aggressively. Just imagine someone behaving like that at the entrance...

I am extremely chocked by the behavior of the entrance men. He insulted me and screamed a me telling me to get out without any explanation. I don’t think that you should speak to people that way especially when you are religious but also when you are standing in god’s house. I wouldn’t advise you to go in there expect if you want to be yelled at and insulted. Probably my worse...

A very big St.Nikolaos church. Built as an orthodox Christian church and taken by the Muslims later on. The minaret is still there to remind the locals what happened. Next to the small square that has a huge platanus tree. A sign there says that on that tree the Turks hanged the bishop and a priest in 1821 during the revolution of Greece.

Beautiful square, a lots of greek food options coffee etc. amazing minerat. only place where you see a Bell tower and Minerat standing together. Amazing Ottoman structure, well preserved. Thanks to Chania local authority that despite locals hate towards Ottomans and Muslims you still protecting these monuments and upholding your history.
