Heraklion Port in Crete is a truly impressive and well-managed gateway to the island. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how clean and well-maintained the entire area is. It's clear that a lot of effort goes into keeping the port in top condition.

One particularly noteworthy aspect is the attention paid to accessibility. I observed that the roads and walkways are thoughtfully designed to assist visually impaired people, a detail that speaks volumes about the port's commitment to inclusivity.

What truly sets Heraklion Port apart is its open design. Unlike many ports that are enclosed by high walls, much of Heraklion Port offers stunning panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. Watching the boats bobbing in the water and the ferries coming and going against the backdrop of the vast sea was a real treat. It created a much more relaxed and pleasant atmosphere than the often-confined feeling of other ports.

My experience with the ferries themselves was also excellent. They were punctual, and the loading and unloading processes were handled efficiently and smoothly. Even booking tickets directly at the port was a surprisingly easy and hassle-free experience. The signage was clear, and staff were readily available to assist.

Overall, I felt incredibly comfortable and at ease navigating Heraklion Port. It's a well-organized, clean, and accessible facility that provides a positive first impression of Crete. The open design and beautiful sea views are a definite bonus, making it more than just a transit point but a pleasant place to be. I would highly recommend using Heraklion Port for anyone traveling to...

It was okay. They do no allow people to walk around the docks so a bus was provided to take us to a building when once we exited there were maned kiosks to sell you tickets for the hop on hop off bus. The only thing is you need to check which bus you are subscribing for. However, they did take you to all the places they said. Plenty of opportunities for...
