Our waiter (George) asked us to write reviews for the restaurant at the end of our meal, so this feels a little weird, but honestly there was nothing disappointing about this restaurant. The food, service and setting were excellent. We went there for lunch on a sunny (getting hot) late May afternoon and were please to find cool outdoor seating with shade and overhead fans. (Looks like they have A/C for really hot days later in the summer.) The place was nearly deserted when we arrived which was a bit concerning, but the place looked well maintained and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. And they spoke English. The waiter told us that the red mullet (fish) was very fresh. (I'm always hesitant at a new restaurant to take recommendations: is it really fresh, or are they just trying to offload day-old fish on me?) As it turns out, the fish was indeed very fresh and tasty and it was served with fresh, perfectly cooked mixed vegetables. For appetizers, we had the dakos (a local Crete specialty, sort of like a round bruschetta) which was just fabulous. We also shared grilled octopus which was probably the best thing we ate there. It was fresh and grilled to perfection -- just delicious. The other main dish we tried was the seafood risotto. Again, the seafood was fresh as can be and the risotto was also very tasty, if a bit on the salty side. The waiter suggested some wines for us which paired well with the meal. I also had ouzo, because, well, when in Greece... and it was just fine as well. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice, laid-back seafood restaurant away from the crowds of the touristy area...
Read moreThe food was very average but the waiter and manager were EXTREMELY dishonest, conniving and THIEVES. We were parking our car to enter the restaurant and accidentally hit a bike behind us causing it to fall and a glass to break. We accepted the fault and offered to pay for the damages. The waiter on the spot quoted €100 which we knew was extortionate and he then proceeded to threaten to call the police. After the dinner we headed outside where we coincidentally overheard the same waiter and the manager LAUGHING and making jokes about the fact that they had just EXTORTED us (when they saw us the manager immediately RAN inside) As tourists this was very upsetting because we knew we were at fault which is why we offered to pay for the damages however overhearing them laughing about how they had overcharged was very dishonest and ruined the whole experience for us. Be careful when going to this restaurant, they also sneakily added a tip into our bill which we didn’t dispute as we felt very bad about the accident. BECAREFUL, they are VERY DISHONEST! Not a good business trait. WORST EXPERIENCE, I would score a negative if I could based on...
Read moreHorrible experience from the start to the end The waiter is rude and even serves the drinks with rude manners spilling the liquids on the table. The location is very close to the airport and there is no sound proof precautions. On rush departure/arrival hours you can not complete a sentence in a conversation without being interrupted by the sound of loud turbines. There is a kids park with an open gate directly to the patio so the kids are riding on bicycle or bouncing football balls next to you. I waited 46 minutes for 4 pieces of Baklava. The waiters just forgets about you. On top of that, the menu says 6 pieces mixing Baklava and Kaitaifi which were never served, but of course they charged. The quality of the food is regular compared with any other restaurant I visited so far in Crete, and there is no Greek attention of any kind. Any prise you see they won, it must have happened a long time ago. Or may be they just paid for it.
I don´t mind to spend extra on good service, but its prices are ridiculous compared with what they offer. I ate much better in literally every other restaurant in Crete, paying a fraction of what...
