Casa dei Delfini — Attraction in Municipality of Rethymnon

Hello Casa Dei Delfini. I stayed with my partner for 9 nights between July 24 and August 02. We had no problems during this time. This very old building in the Venetian style has been magnificently restored. When we arrived at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by Katerina. During our stay, both Katerina and her son Konstantinos helped us in every way and gave us a lot of useful information about places to visit. We stayed in room number 4. The bed in the room with a very large area was quite big and comfortable. The kitchen had enough equipment but we never used it. The bathroom was both spacious and had all the equipment. We also had a small balcony which was enough for smoking. The breakfast was also very sufficient and satisfying for us. A big thank you to Elena. She prepared wonderful things in the kitchen and welcomed us with her smiling face every morning. Thank you Elena. The hotel is within walking distance of everywhere in old Rethymno. You can find cafes, restaurants, souvenirs. As a result, it is a place where you can stay with peace of mind. If we come back, we will choose Casa dei Delfini again. Thank you Katerina and Konstantinos. You are doing a great job....

Where to start….|1. Internet-Kept knocking us off, we work online|2. No hot water 2nd morning had to call since there is no one at the one little desk most of the time so if you are going to go then you better get their cell number|3. No security at night; I did not see where the listing said one must use a key to get in after say 8pm, and there is no attendant anywhere until after 8:30am|4. Ran out of toilet paper last day, no one around to replenish. Had to hold it in…|5. Room not cleaned (bathroom floor had same dirt for 4 days) but towels were replaced, garbage taken out and beds made|6. Coffee maker didn’t function first day -they say you can get breakfast but we never saw from where no did we see anyone eating or drinking coffee|7. When we arrived, the safe was locked (not shown around when we were introduced to the room). When we tried to open, it set off a continuous beeping. Since Nono e was at the front desk, fortunately we had a cell number; issue was rectified in terms of stopping the beeping, but we could not use the safe until the next day||So, not one of best experiences. The woman was very sweet, however the young man was not...

We stayed there for a few days and loved the experience - everything was exactly as described.

The architecture of the building is amazing. Common areas are very well maintained and not crowded.

Our room was clean and tidy at all times. Two of the highlights were the incredible staff and the breakfast - fresh and healthy.

Two things to note: (i) WiFi was a little slow and (ii) the nearest parking place is about eight minutes walk.

These are expected because the Old Town does not allow cars and it is a vacation vs business hotel.

Even though everything is within walking distance, the closest beach (excluding the port) is about 15-20 minutes away.

This is because the location of the building is on the limit of the tourist/residential area.
