Basically the main square of Santorini, so most important places are walking distance from here. Many shops and restaurants too, but I am not sure this is the best place to find the best food in Santorini. I have found the best places to eat in the less central areas of the island. The shop located in this square has some of the best prices you can find if you are buying some souvenirs, though, so it's nice to check that out! I checked a lot of shops around Fira and Oia, but this specific large shop - you can't miss it - in the main square has some of the best prices!

We liked Fira much more than Oia because it's not as much of a endless queue of instagrammers but more a throng of tourists, which is a bit better. There's literally hundreds of bars restaurants and cafes. Shops ranging from snacks and souvenirs to luxurious gold and Swiss watches and high fashion. It's all very chilled out but expect to pay a premium for the best views. We found a Greek eatery called Obelix which sells a wide variety of Greek foods and pizzas etc. Food for a family of four was only 38eur!

The main square of The capital of Santorini, Fira. There are plenty shops for shopping, restaurants for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Also you can enjoy a drink by the night, but without a caldera view. Some shops are remaining open at the winter time also. No cars allowed at the summer season. There is a lot of parking before the main square!!

Was expecting a large main square but very busy and full of restaurants, vendors and patrons. Being a main hub for the bus system, the street is well traveled and quite busy. Was able to have lunch in one of the restaurants in the main square, servers spoke English and advised us on the menu. Worth the visit to Santorini.

We took the cable car up. Beautiful town with a bice view of the sea. Small streets with loads of shops and restaurants. Keep in mind that most restaurants can be pricy and the town can be very busy. Also while this is the main city, you won't find the famouse blue doms here, those are in the neighbor town of Oia.

Gorgeous town. Amazing view of the sea from every walkway and restaurant. The winding streets revealed new corridors to discover. The people were so friendly, the shops were a delightful mix of touristy, artisan and boutique. We were here three days and never had a bad meal or glass of wine.
