Tourist Trap. Avoid at all costs! Please do not eat here, unless you want to get scammed!!! It was my family and I’s first day here in Santorini and we were starving for dinner. We walked to the nearest square in search of Greek food, and as we were passing this restaurant a man came up to us with lamb gyros samples urging us to go inside. I must admit the lamb was delicious- but this was a trap. As we were sat in the table I noticed that the prices on the menu were written in pencil and extremely vague. This was the first red flag. The waiter came and was pushing us to get a mixed grill for four. At first I was agreeable but then realised he was progressively getting too pushy in telling us to get the mixed grill shared when asking about other menu choices. When I asked how much it was he wrote on our paper table “€125” to my shock. I said no way, that is too much- we will have individual meals from the menu. He then wrote €100, to which I kept saying no clearly stating we wanted individual meals. He finally wrote €70. I said no again and then he asked me to name my price for the mixed grill shared. At this point my family and I were shocked that the price has almost halved and asserted we were indeed going to order the individual meals. He was moody about it and abrupt. He tried to imply that we were going to order a salad as a starter to which I clearly stated “no additions”. He then left to get our food. I must admit the food wasn’t terrible, the lamb gyros was nice, but the bread and chips were extremely dry. I also noticed the two poor ladies next to us who were clearly scammed into ordering a mixed grill sharer. It was literally a mountain of meat and they looked miserable eating them paying for the bill. Thank god we avoided that. At the end of the meal, the waiter had the nerve to tell us to give the restaurant 5 stars for a free watermelon dessert. It was getting ridiculous to a point where my family and I were actually amused. I feel like we were running out of red flags...
Read moreWe went here because we trusted our tour guide who advised/recommended this place. Once we got inside and placed an order it seemed like nobody cared, it felt like they only in it for the money,(we saw sooo many orders went wrong and nobody cater to fix it). The meal portions were very small especially compared for the price and other locations, we asked for mayonnaise for the fries and we where told the sauce we had was mayonnaise (some orange sauce) that would’ve been and wasn’t even enough for the kebab, the amount of sauce was only just like 1 scoop for a plate. When we asked for more sauce he said very irritated that we have to pay €6,- .. just FOR SAUCE!! The menu said with pita bread, you’ll only get half a bread. It was overly full in there, chaos, 1 small stairs where waiters walk up and down with food and guests also have to walk there it’s over crowded, nobody was friendly helpful or nice, they acted like a question bothered them and people waiting for a seat so I felt like we just have to eat fast and get out fast. Never will I listen to any tourguide again and never will we eat here again either.
To bad we had high hopes but maybe they tour guides work together with them to bring in people? I don’t know but that’s the vibe we got from it and we felt like it was a trap unfortunately
Overal: Chicken was nice Kebab was extremely salty Fries without mayo just a scoop of sauce ‘mayo’ Sauce would’ve been €6,- add on (no thank you) Salad was almost not to be called ‘salad’ just a 1 tomato slice and some little...
Read moreThe establishment looks inviting from the outside and the head waiter/owner does a good job of enticing people to try the variety of fayre that is on offer. The menu is quite varied although a little basic. We ordered a garlic bread to start and then two chicken spit roasts. I found the garlic bread to be quite pleasant but with a little to much cheese and it came on a completely unnecessary hastily shredded bed of lettuce. This type of garnish or aesthetic adornment did little to add to the dish. The food would have been better served without the lettuce and served on a board or unique plate. The mains arrived before we had finished our starter. This wasn't to much of an issue but was a little irksome. The mains were reminiscent of food served in a food court or cafeteria, actually I think I have had better food in both. The chicken should have come with a choking hazard warning. I have never before consumed a dish so dry i had to take a sip of wine with every bite. That brings me to the wine. My wife's white was tepid and most likely had never seen the inside of a refrigerator. My red was palatable but, even though red should be served at room temperature, a little common sense should tell you that if your room has the surface temperature of Mercury, then your red wine needs to be relocated somewhere cooler. The service was good although a little hasty. I wouldn't recommend eating here unless you have a penchant for bland food...
