I loved the place! Stayed in a private room. Martha is a lovely host. The kitchen is well-equipped. Hot water, and provides shampoo and body soap. The environment around is a little bit "noisy" (due to construction) but nothing that you can fix by using earplugs, also the neighborhood goes to bed around 10 pm.
You're close to everything, calle de los sombreros, calle de las artes (sombrillas), and the great view trailhead to Mirador Kaqasiiwaan, the local catholic church (awesome view at night tbh) Has everything for a great stay in San Juan La laguna.
Unfortunately, the hostel didn't show up in booking, hostelworld when I try to find it through those apps, but you can find it through the "Prices" tap in Google Maps. If you want to stay with Chirris Hostel, you can call them too, Martha is always available for you.
Arrived in San Juan without any reservations, and called the place and they helped me a lot. My room was ready in less than 10min, and Martha also let me stay in the common area room.

Read moreA wonderful, homely accommodation in the heart of San Juan. The shared dorm was spacious, with plenty of space to store luggage and the bed was really comfortable. The courtyard area was really nice especially with the lights at night and the kitchen area was a welcome bonus as was the complimentary coffee. It was extremely clean and tidy and a good place to rest. Andrea, Francisca and the rest of the staff I met were such lovely people. It's the type of place where you can easily keep extending your stay. I recommend this hostel to all and would love to come...
Read moreI loved my team here at Chirris Hostal. Anna at the front desk with super kind and really helpful. It was on the main road, so close enough to all the restaurants and shops. The rooms were clean, the kitchen was nice, and the common area was cute and spacious. There is only one toilet and shower for all the guests but it didnt seem to be a problem while I was there for 2 days. I stayed in a hostal for the time in Antigua and it was okay. This being my second experience was awesome. And only $25/night for a single room....
