I have been here few times in few years, if you just visiting Nagoya, go first to Honmaru Castle. Restored wooden palace is such an amazing place to visit, such a great experience. I think it is really an architectural marvel. The whole castle complex is worth visiting, go there in the morning preferably on a weekday, there is seasonal exhibitions take place. I came for the Castle, but it was closed. I joined the queue to explore the Honmaru Palace. Queue is fast enough and you are asked to leave your belonging at the start, but they provide free lockers (100 yen that's just a deposit) and shoe lockers. Bring socks if you don't like slippers.
