So it is really unfortunate that we waited until our last day in Reykjavik to visit. The place has a wonderful athmosphere. We weren't there for the live music, but we did enjoy the jazz music over their speakers. They also have a good collection of used books, mostly Icelandic, but also other Scandinavian languages, English and I think German, at reasonable prices. I bought three used volumes of the collected sagas of the Icelanders for a very reasonable price. There are also various works of modern Icelamdic literature. I almost bought a slim book of modern poetry, but recognizing how full my bags were, changed my mind. And there coffee was also good. Well...

This is a very strange place but don't be put of. Quirky is another way of describing it. We visited in the evening and if was fairly busy and had a live band on who were great. All the old classic rock songs were sung by the band who invited a sing along from the audience. They have a great range of alcoholic drinks as well as the usual soft drinks. One end of this place is set up as a library and I'm not sure if this is just a gimmick or if people really do visit earlier in the day and sit for a coffee and read.

The staff are super friendly and the service was great. Definitely a place to visit when going...

Coffee was fine, but the bathroom was filthy, the bin overflowing across the ground and the handle for the lock was broken making it impossible to lock from the inside. Politely brought the bin to the attention of staff and was told ‘ok, can’t do anything about that now,’ and they she just walked away. I wasn’t intending she jump to and go clean immediately, I understand there are a lot of tasks which need addressing and an order in which things are done but I would expect to at least pretend to care about the lack of basic hygiene. Was impressed by the...

Very cool bar! Was there on a Saturday night and it was hopping! The band was great. Killer singer was hitting all the high notes on some very demanding songs. Only criticism is for whoever was running the sound: the vocal desperately needs a high pass filter set to around 160Hz. A -6db notch around 450Hz wouldn’t hurt either (see photos). It was hurting me to hear this guy belting out all these great songs and have his voice sound muddy, but as an audio professional I may be the only person who noticed or cared. Everybody was having a great time.
