Skólavörðustígur — Local services in Reykjavik

Walking from Hallgrímskirkja along this street, down to Regnbogagatan and then onto Laugavegur makes some good walk here in this city. Compared to Laugavegur this street here is more quiet. But had much more interesting shops in my opinion. It's less busy and has nice views of the Hallgrímskirkja. Ok, there's some traffic and parked cars blocking some views. But it's more of a real-life street. People live here. It's less touristy and still has some nice clothing shops, arts & crafts and even souvenir stores. It's all here. We liked it. And - if you come down from the church - it ends at the Regnbogagatan. Another quirky sight. As close as you can get to Marios...

This street is the Main Street which starts (ends) at the church. The rainbow section is just a single block but very beautiful and vibrant. Lots of restaurants, ice cream parlors and plenty of shopping options. We purchased an Icelandic sweater here and also munched on some delicacies.
