Sagnheimar — Attraction in Vestmannaeyjabær

This has exhibits all about the people, culture and history of the Westmann Islands. It is small, occupying the upper floor above the library, but very interesting to see. Pleasantly surprised with this museum. Not what I was expecting. Make sure you purchase the tickets for all 3 museums on the island as it gets you a discount and all museums are worth visiting. Each one should take about 30 minutes to an hour or more. Exhibits about the way of life on the islands and some stories of historical events. Very well assembled and excellent, knowledgeable staff. Great museum. Its small but impressive for the island. I liked the exhibit about the pirate raid the best. Staff was knowledgeable and more than willing to answer questions. There aren't many exhibits but of you like museums this had a nice feel to it. Probably just buy the multi museum pass and do a half day walking tour of the rest of the options like...
