After finishing our visit to the Eldheimar Museum, we wondered where to go for lunch. Fortunately, the museum staff directed us to what they considered the best restaurant on the island. I don't know if it was simply because it was our only option, but if there's a better place, I can't imagine what it could be—because I have nothing to complain about. The food was delicious! We had two burgers (one of them vegetarian), pasta with shrimp, and a salad with chicken. The staff was helpful and apologized in advance for the lack of an English menu, explaining that it was due to the introduction of a new menu.

I hardly ever write reviews but this was the best meal I had in three weeks in Iceland. I traveled the Ring Road and plenty of spots along the way but this meal and place stands out. I got the corn ribs and chicken salad. The “ribs” were the best corn I’ve had in my life. So inventive and so much flavor. You HAVE to get them. The chicken salad was a mouth party. This is what salad is supposed to be. So flavorful. Phenomenal. Pics are of the corn ribs and salad before and after the presentations you can see how yummy it looks under the topping.

We were short on time for lunch, but arriving at 2 PM worked in our favor—the restaurant was quiet and uncrowded. I ordered the fish of the day, a beautifully prepared cod, and it arrived almost instantly. The first bite was unforgettable: tender, flaky, and so fresh it practically melted in my mouth. As Iceland’s most iconic wild catch, cod holds a special place in the country’s culinary heritage—and this restaurant delivered it at its absolute best.

We had an incredible dining experience at Vöruhúsið! From the moment we walked in, the friendly and helpful staff made us feel right at home. The restaurant itself is stylish and relaxing, perfect for a great meal.For starters, we had the Super Nachos, which were absolutely delicious and a perfect way to kick off the evening. When it came to the main course, we were blown away by the burgers. The Blue Cheese Burger was rich and flavorful, and the Bearnaise Burger was a unique and delightful twist on a classic.To top it all off, we indulged in the Oreo Hell for dessert. It was heavenly and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.Vöruhúsið is a must-visit for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere....

Randomly dropped in after arriving on the ferry. The server said the burgers were excellent so my wife ordered the cheeseburger and I ordered the bernaise burger. My wife’s was outstanding and mine was mind-blowing. Quite possibly the best burger I’ve ever had in my life. I came all the way from the states to have the best burger ever, in Iceland. And the fries! The fries were the best as well. Lightly crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside. Like nothing I have had before. I ate the lunch in awe of my good fortune. Amazing and Extremely Allergy friendly! The food here is so delicious, everything we ordered was out of this world. And even with multiple serious food allergies it was no problem at all, the chef( Owner) came to our table and made sure to list all the allergies and made the dishes completely from scratch to make sure it was safe. And let me tell you it was some of the most delicious food I've had in my life.
