We went for coffee. It’s a very popular bakery and strangely not many people were ordering coffee. That should have been a clue. I felt sorry for the girl making the coffee she had clearly never been taught how to make a flat white. The result was that the coffee was very weak. The milk was heated but just thrown on top of the coffee. Looked terrible, little coffee taste, drinkable as a warm drink is drinkable on a cold day. If you like coffee this is not the place for you. Read moreFirst of all, the island is totally worth seeing. But with the high prices on Icelands mainland I was expecting poor quality with crazy prices so far away from pretty much anything. I was unexpectedly surprised. I had an expreso in the morning with the absolute best Danish I have ever had. Read moreYou can smell how good this place is going to be before you even get inside. We may have carb overloaded on our visit, getting croissants, cinnamon rolls and sourdough rolls for later. But it all looked so good! We took our coffee and our pastries up to the lighthouse and had breakfast overlooking the island and even the local sheep were envious of my incredibly buttery, flaky croissant. We later made sandwiches with the sourdough rolls on top of the mountain overlooking the volcano so at least we earned our carbs in some way :). Definitely stop in here and get something yummy...
