when everything works like a charm, i guess it's five stars then! the owner of the place happened to be there when we arrived -- such a sweet & welcoming gentleman. the room was small but was perfect for one night, incl. a netflix movie night. several bathrooms made sure there were no queues and there were handtowels and some sort of nice scents. i appreciate details like these.

i only had some hot beverages in the kitchen / dining room, but it seemed fully equipped.

the location is simply perfect, in the middle of heimaey's restaurant scene.

the wind got very strong during our stay and that was something that the window could hardly handle, so we had some atmospheric howls throughout the night. this is a minor complaint...

We were a little nervous in booking here seeing the slope of the roof above some of the beds (my husband is very tall), but those fears were unfounded. The beds were comfortable, there was more than enough clearance where we never came close to hitting the ceiling.||Received an email earlier in the day with the code to get into the front door and our room. Our room was upstairs with the bathroom across the hall, the house is well built enough that we didn't hear people coming/going or using the bathroom in the middle of the night.||While we didn't use the kitchen beyond filling our water bottles, I was surprised by how well stocked it seemed. Worked well for myself! My room (#8)was in great condition. The bathrooms upstairs were stocked and spotless! I never looked at the kitchen area, but it was nice to know it was there if needed. I believe I was the only person staying there that night, so it was totally quiet, but I could understand there could be noise if others were walking around on the wood floors.

My only minor issues were the window shade hardly did anything to block the sunlight coming into the room during the sleeping hours, so make sure to bring a eye mask. Also, I wasn’t sure where to park, so I parked at the public lot about 1.5...
