I get baffled when any person/movie/celebrity/web series etc even mentions Lajpat Nagar as some kind of iconic place of Delhi. Forget about it being iconic, I cannot even consider it to be worthy of one time visit. Maybe some NCR folks or people from other states might find it a good shopping place, but for a Delhiite, its a joke!
I wont even mention the obvious that nowadays you get better shopping experience and prices online. Public still goes out for shopping or just hanging out.
Parking is a big hassle here. On weekends you might as well come with sports shoes on. Walk run and do marathons from home. On weekdays too its jam packed. Its not just a market. Its scattered to various residential Lajpat nagar blocks and your parking wont be just for you. Local transport like Rickshaws/auto wallahs will demand HIGH rates because they know the 3 streets around are all jam packed from start to finish.
The streets are dirty and filthy. Karol bagh was dirty at one point of time but renovated a little bit. Lajpat is filled with narrow lanes and useless small shops. The unbranded stuff is so ugly and low quality that had it not been Lajpat, it was worthy of Friday and Monday markets. And the prices are so high that you chuckle just watching the confidence of the seller!
If you want to rent some wedding/party stuff there are some good shops here (good as in its available... I didnt visit them to guarantee their prices or quality). But that you can get in Chandni Chowk/Karol bagh also.
For something that might cost you Rs 100 in a local market will be quoted to be Rs 500. Quality and look is Abibas and the price is of Adidas. At least at Palika you get crap products but the look is deceiving. Here, even the product's appearance is third class.
There are a few brand stores but they sell stuff on MRP and even there discounted rates are higher than the same product online. Why would I buy an XYZ brand's product costlier than that same product online at cheaper rate that comes with the option to return/exchange?!
There are some eateries and restaurants but there are hardly any seats available. There are many street food options (none of them to go ga-ga about) but you need to have a street to stand on to eat that food. There is no place to breathe, where will you stand?! And when you stand there are gangs of beggar women who touch you and ask you for food.
I have rarely seen such fat beggars who are so casual about begging. I literally saw a gang of beggar girls who were sucking on milk shake bottles (which they might have asked someone to pay for) and then threw the bottles casually on the streets (they are filth so they only spread filth) and then came towards me for food/money. They werent even interested in me, they probably casually came in just to get some money habitually.
Public transport - There are no e-rickshaws here. Only cycle rickshaws. Which further slow down the traffic. And are tough to get on for...

Lajpat Nagar Market is well connected by Metro as well as by road . Parking can be challange over the weekends, especially during peak business hours and festivals. Cinema theatre as well as food restaurants are available nearby. I highly recommend trying the Ram Laddu and Dolma Aunty Momos. Amazing shopping experience here. It was very crowded, but found the best of all products. Quite popular among Middle Eastern, Afghan, and Iranian origin persons as well. Happy Shopping 😊 5️⃣ Daily wearable clothing , jewellery , Plastic products, inner wear , artificial jewellery , food plaza , footwear, toys , T shirts , trendy wear , makeup items, Paintings , Chat , Momos , juice and what not .. reasonable pricing and good quality ...
Parks are also there , where one can rest but the market is so good that it takes at least 3 hours to complete shopping .. ATMs are not in good numbers there, so try to use UPI or card, but if you feel, then have some money in your wallet also .
❌ Paid 💰 car parking and limited space for scooty/bike.
✅ Cash 💸 ✅UPI Phone/paytm/Google Pay ✅ Debit card and credit card 💳 accept
