Please Don't Talk floored us with the food and beverages. The service was warm and very friendly. And the ambiance just took us back to school days. I've not seen a better executed theme in Kolkata. Absolutely loved every corner and how it was used. Attention to derail is spot on!
Coming to the food Brilliant is the only way I can describe the meal. All the food was cooked so well and sprosingly I loved the both the veg and Nonveg fare!
The Philadelphia cheese kulcha and Daal was a big hit. Absolutely amazing. The soft as cotton kulchas and the rich kali Daal were a match made in heaven.
The half meter pizza was not a delight to look at and photograph, but tasted amazing too. Generous topping, thin crust and good balance.
Absolutely loved the Schezwan Pepper corn chicken. Crunchy till the last bite and loaded in flavour.
The 4 types of hummus were absolutely divine, especially the green one made with Edamame. Velvety sooth texture and great balance of flavors.
Have to mention the Veg Mapo Tofu. I never imagined a veg version of the dish could taste so good. I've been a Mapo tofu purist, but this version changed my perception.
The classic murgh malai nazakat (tikka) was cooked beautifully. Tender even when it had cooled down, shows the skill of the tandoor chef..
The wings too were very tender and not overcooked.
Coming to the beversges, everybody loved the sous vide cocktails. I don't drink and I loved the Kiwi iced tea and the popcorn juice very much.
The desserts were...
Read moreI loved their name 'Please Don't talk' (located in the heart of the city - opp. lane to Pantaloons, Camac Street). If you want to feel the essence of your school days you can pay visit to this place. It's a good attempt to preserve little aspect of a school. Specially their washroom with small lil quotes around. The menu looks like a notebook and their bill comes in geometry box. They also have an area for hookah. Their food presentation is different and nice. I enjoyed my lunch at this place.
I came with 8 of my friends. We ordered:- Cream Cheese Truffle was good.. Peach Iced tea was served in the small kettle with two small chai glasses, flavor was good.. Cucumber Cooler which was great & very refreshing.. Julius Ceasar's jeopardy(veg) was an iceberg lettuce salad with Caesar's dressing, it was appetizing.. Soba noodles was healthy(as it was made of buck wheat flour) as well as tasty, lil oily though.. Pizza crust was so thin and crispy, well prepared.. Churros came with 3 - chocolate, caramel and white chocolate sauces. I liked it.. Newton's law of anti gravity was a chocolate truffle with raspberry, it was my personal favorite and I loved the presentation of it..
Service was okay! (There were few non veg dishes too which wasn't eaten by me so can't say anything about it). Pocket pinch came to...
Read moreThe place is located in a Porsche area of Kolkata known as Park area and camac street. The ambience of the pub is good and the place is well designed and decorated on that department its a 9/10. The service here is very pathetic, the person who prepares hookah doesn't know how to prepare a good one. The flavor after some time started dripping into the flask and got mixed with water. After complaining about this we decided not to order anything and asked them to replace the hookah but instead they changed the water and the flask instead of changing the chillam which was the main reason and after afew puffs the flavor residues starting popping in the flask below mixed with water. So in terms of service they were pretty low would give 1/10 and hookah here is not recommended as per my experience 0/10. We just asked for the bill and left after the experience which came to be around 711 bucks for a hookah which wasn't prepared properly and not at all enjoyable. The pub was clean and the staff was pretty good dealing with this would give 9/10 in this department. Didn't taste any food after this experience so no comments on food. Overall rating would be 6/10 Not recommended for hookah after...
