Woodlands Cinemas — Attraction in Zone 9 Teynampet

Woodlands Cinemas is a classic theater in Chennai with an old-school charm that brings a sense of nostalgia. Overall, Woodlands Cinemas is a great option for those who love the charm of traditional cinema and want an affordable, comfortable place to watch...

It's 2022 and this theatre still SWITCHES OFF the Air Conditioning during the course of the film... That too with the second half, it was almost completely turned off... Really good to see the separate staircase to go to the Balcony section, a real 90's thing to do... The chairs are still maintained the same old fashioned way and the whole theatre in itself is maintained that way.... The audio was NOT AT ALL AUDIBLE for most of the runtime....

Maybe the theatre has decided to keep a low profile, with 20 rupees parking for bike and 25 rupees for a water bottle...

Even for a FDFS show (Vikram 11:30 AM show on 3rd June, 2022), there were still local goons trying to push the seats based on their own wish, wherever they're vacant seats....

Not sure if all this is because of the raise of the Sathyam & Escape cinemas nearby, this theatre management had decided not to upgrade themselves....

Really wish I didn't have to say this, but this is LITERALLY a 'Thara...

Now I understand why this theatre is empty. The staffs are not working properly. The air conditioner? No comments 😕. And the popcorn? I dont even know if that is buttered flavoured popcorn or cigarette flavoured popcorn. And i watched "jurassic world: rebirth"in 3d. And my eyes hurts now cause the quality of the 3d glasses. The restrooms aren't even clean. Even public restrooms will be cleaner than this. And the veg puffs? Yep that's also cigarette flavoured And tasted even worser than paper. And the juices? I didn't even know that type of juice brand existed!. And the seats aren't even clean 🙄. And we paid extra for the 3d glasses and they said we have to return that! And thats not even quality glasses. Even in luxe or inox they will not charge extra charge for glasses and we still get to keep that glasses. This is my worst...
