SHIRAZ IS ONE OF THE oldest Iranian cities, with a vibrant culture of art and craftsmanship and a rich history, both of which are on spectacular display at the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, one of the most beautiful mosques in Iran. With dazzling stained glass, thousands of painted tiles on the ceiling and Persian rugs covering the floor, this place of worship is a gorgeous rainbow of color in every direction, like stepping into a kaleidoscope. Inside the mosque is an open courtyard with a rectangular pool in the center, surrounded by flowers. The building’s facade features dozens of arabesque arches, adding to the beauty of the light show from the stained glass. Nasir al-Mulk Mosque was constructed between 1876 and 1888, during the Qajar dynasty, which ruled Iran from 1785 to 1925. It has been dubbed the “Pink Mosque” due to the plethora of pink-colored tiles blanketing the ceiling. The best time to visit the mosque is in the early morning, when the sun reflects the stained glass patterns onto the floor. Nasir-Ol Molk Mosque is one of the most ancient mosques of Shiraz and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sites in Iran. Nasir-Ol Molk Mosque, also known as the Pink Mosque or Rainbow Mosque, looks like an ordinary Islamic mosque at first sight, but as the sun rises, the art of architecture turns the mosque into a huge kaleidoscope. Sunlight, passing through mosaic windows, paints the walls and floor carpets with hundreds of colors. Magic will vanish in a couple of hours, so plan your visit for an early morning. Nasir-Ol Molk Mosque is located in a region in the southern part of Lotf Ali Khan Zand Street. When in this area, you can visit many attractions that their antiquity dates back to the Zand dynasty. They are Vakil Bazaar, Vakil Bath, Karim Khan Citadel, Pars Museum, Atiq Jameh Mosque, Shah Cheragh, and Tomb of Hafez. Do not forget to add them to your long scroll of attractions you are going to visit.

Inside it hides a wonderful secret. Every morning, the sun's rays filter through the stained glass windows, transforming the rooms into a magical place. Walking here is like walking in a kaleidoscope of colors. what will really amaze you are its interiors. The sun enters through the colored windows and reflects on the beautiful floor covered with Persian rugs, whose decorations are truly wonderful. This mosque is one of the most deserving of a visit among Iran's mosques and is the most varied, its unique tile work and colored glass give it great charm. The use of pink tiles in this mosque meant that it was given the nickname "pink mosque". The Nasir ol Molk mosque has two entrance doors; the main entrance is decorated with encaustic tiles and the image of the red rose and iris. The wooden door has a stone frame with Islamic decorations (arabesques) and is a single large block; above it a small inscription next to lines of a poem shows the date of its construction.

My one of the most favorite Mosques where I enter & feel myself in another planet of universe. It's Calm, Peaceful, Breathtaking, Beautiful, Marvelous & Colorful Mosque. When sun rays passes through color ful windows then it makes wonderful, eyes catching different colorful patterns falling all over These colours are beautiful! I love it. Never ever miss the visit to this mosque if you are soulful person, or poet, or thoughtful thinker, or Sufi, or Derwaish, or art lover or in search of inner peace or want to do meditation. It's a house of God so, there must not be any enterance fee for Mosque. It's a stupid tactics to earn money through sacred Places. The person who built it, he didn't want to built it to earn money from tourists. For God Sake, put the price tag to any place except Sacred places, Tombs of Religious personalities & poets.

The mosque is a must see site. It is located in the center of the city of Shiraz. If your hotel is in the city center, you may go walking to this place. Don’t put too much time for this historical site, One hour visit is enough I guess. The mosque is small but worth to visit. You should go during the day light. I think about mid day is better if you like to see the sun shinning through the colored glass of the mosque. Also, do not miss to see the rear colors of the walls. There are a museum and some old facilities you may see inside the mosque. Something i dislike during our visit. The guys in the gate were rough and unhelpful. But generally, if you like traditional art, you shouldn’t miss this site.
