مسجد ارک امروز كه در میدان پانزده خرداد و مقابل محوطه كاخ گلستان واقع شده، در محل مسجد «مادر شاه» كه دربار قاجاریه براى خانم‌هاى بیت سلطنتى ساخته بود، بنا گردیده است.

این مسجد در سال ۱۳۲۸ به دست جمعی از بازاریان تهران در دو طبقه با مساحتی حدود ساخته شد.
