These are the ruins of Carlow Castle. Magnificent to look at. They've no foundation! There's an information plaque at the front if it and around the sides of it which are interesting. It's gated off so you only get to walk around the perimeter which takes about five to ten minutes with reading the info and photographs. It's basically what you see in photos. But worth a visit if you like...

Read moreI have never been to Carlow. Unfortunately, I believe that Carlow is the worst county in Ireland. If I actually visited here, I probably wouldn’t recommend it. Go to any other county instead, even Leitrim. This castle actually looks quite good, but alas it is located in Carlow....
