Aldi — Unfortunately, Not What It Used to Be

Aldi used to be a great store with good prices, quality products, and decent service. It was popular and really stood out among other supermarkets. But sadly, things have changed — the store has gone downhill.

Many of the products have noticeably declined in quality, yet the prices are now similar to what you'd pay for well-known brands in higher-end supermarkets. Why buy an unknown product at the same price when you can get something better elsewhere?

And their so-called “promotions” and “lottery deals” — they’re honestly laughable. They advertise cheap products, often of questionable quality, and then they’re simply not available in store. You come in for the deal, and there’s nothing to buy. It’s disappointing.

These days, I only go to Aldi for a few specific items. For everything else, I prefer other stores.

I really hope Aldi returns to the quality and standards it once had — the store used to be...

Aldi Tullow ......I had shopped here for years, but don't go there anymore, like many people I know. Surely it must becoming apparent that there is a drop in cost to the store. Stock control has been an issue lately. Some staff OK, others are quite unwelcoming and not very helpful. Why close tills while customers are waiting in a line?? Also I asked a "manager" if I could use the toilet as she was standing at the door into the bathroom and I got no response, just opened the door and looked at me.....good manners cost nothing...except maybe a good review..... Another aldi staff member looked at me apologetically as they too noticed the awkward encounter and how rude she had been to me...that says a lot.

Don't act as though you are doing your customers a favour by serving them. Without customers...what shop...

During my trip to Ireland, I visited the ALDI in Carlow multiple times and was impressed each time by their cleanliness and excellent customer service. The store is always well-maintained, with tidy aisles and organized shelves, making it easy to find everything I need.

What stood out the most, however, was the exceptional customer service provided by the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist customers with any questions or concerns. Their dedication to providing a positive shopping experience made my visits to this ALDI truly enjoyable.

Overall, I highly recommend ALDI in Carlow for its cleanliness and outstanding customer service. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor to the area, you can expect a pleasant shopping experience...
