Billies Grill and Chinese Restaurant - Coffee House — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Carlow

Had a small group at Billies tonight 3 adults and 2 children, I would like to thank the staff very much for their undivided attention to the children who gained a little independence by ordering their own food and sitting at their own table, they danced to the music playing while the adults had a chat and they were very welcoming to the kids for this alone I would definitely return. The food was absolutely fabulous and the portion sizes were definitely a roll out of the restaurant job! Thank you very much to the team at billies tonight 12th of October 2024! They don't charge rip off prices to sit in and have a meal they charge as per takeaway menu which is an added bonus looking at other reviews I don't get why you give them less marks because the mains came out as quick as the starters your not paying much for the service as if you were to eat it at home so if you want billies to hijack their prices and rip you off for sitting in then there would be no decent affordable places to eat so I really feel these people should perhaps go get a life and go somewhere that charges you 25euro for a main course and then you can ask for it to be as slow as you want as your paying for it. I have to say I had an appalling experience here. The service is atrocious since Ellen left and new management took over. I used to go here at least once a week with my family and it used to be an enjoyable experience. The quality of the food has taken a nose dive, the quality of the service is disgraceful, no one working here seems to know what they are doing. The owners small child has free run of the place, climbing on our table when we were trying to eat and feed our own child. We ordered Chinese and the kids pizza, the Chinese food was bland and greasy, not like before, the pizza was under cooked and the base was still raw dough in the centre. The restaurant itself is filthy and the table was sticky and dirty from previous customers. The toilets are shockingly filthy. We will not be eating here anymore. I would never recommend...

often been to billies and never once had a bad word to say, called in this evening (30/7/22) for dinner. to start off we waited 10 minutes to get the menu, once we order waited another 15 minutes for our drinks, finally after seeing our starters been placed on serving shelf for 10 minutes we received half of our starters, again waiting for sauce, had not finished our starters when our main course was handed out and again it was wrong, one lady who was serving had little to no english and other lady had no manner walking around with her phone in her hand constantly, overall a bad experience which we were very surprised by. use to be very capable chiefs and waiting staff i think her name was sarah, highly doubt we will be back nor will we...
