VISUAL Carlow — Attraction in The Municipal District of Carlow

One of the best galleries in Ireland in promoting contemporary art exhibitions. Designed and built to cater for all types of exhibitions. At present Visual is showing an interesting international exhibition documenting the history of children's playgrounds and play-spaces. It is well documented and supported with historic and present day photographs of playgrounds around the world. Visual have also placed interactive play spaces within the gallery - ideal for children to play on. Visual is wheelchair friendly, has car parking facilities, a theatre showing a broad range program of varied talents and Lennons restaurant serves wonderful food suiting all diets. The restaurant staff are friendly and most helpful. The Visual is a must when visiting Carlow Town. The excellent County Museum is just a 5 minute walk from Visual and worth...

VISUAL is a well laid out theatre with terrific sound quality. Seating is comfortable and clean, with enough leg room for my 5'3" height. The rows are very well- tiered, so even a six footer could sit without their knees doing damage to the person seated in front of them! I don't think there is a bad view of the stage from any seat in the whole theatre. My one criticism is that the building itself is difficult to find, especially if not familiar with the layout of the smaller streets in Carlow town..even using Google maps! There is some road signage closer to the theatre, but the car park is accessed through gated walls at the back of the building and is confusing as to which of the two available lanes will bring you to the entrance of the theatre.
